Re: New guy...

If I were to buy a new laptop it would most certainly be a Mac. I wouldn't get one for gaming, but I would love one for work.

Re: New guy...

If you need to do work using a Mac it's entirly different than gaming.

You pick depending on it.

once you grow old enough and realise that machines do alot more than just gaming you might hold off on the uneducated comments that

You obviously don't know my personality if you think my baseless comment is really being held as truth.

And I bought the Mac cos my younger brother wanted to learn to do 3D graphics and web design as well as animation, I just found a few games for it, thats all.

Re: New guy...

Get a PC and game with us. That would be to your benefit. Oh, and regardless of how good Mac's are at other things, PC's own them for gaming, and availability of software. Therefore, I use PC only, in fact I am posting this from my IBM Thinkpad R52.

Re: New guy...

Thats fine for those of you with plenty of money, but without any to throw at something just for games, I'm going to stick with something for what it is needed for, and for now, thats Mac OSX. Sure I like gaming, but it's not such a huge part of my life to justify that sort of expense...

If you're implying I'd be more welcome elsewhere, I can just as easily go...

Negative.

We've still got an active GR community, so if you're able to connect to the same servers as the PC users, then I'm positive that they'd like to shoot you in the face, err, I mean see you on the server.

I don't know what other games you're able to join us with, but you're welcome here, regardless of what type of computer you use!

Hehe, if I had extra money laying around I'd have a Mini for websurfing / whatever, and my PC for games. And those iBooks are kinda cool. Games aren't a huge part of my life, but big enough that I'd rather keep a PC as my primary machine so I don't miss out on lots of titles. Having choices is a good thing!

That America's Army thing frustrates me as a Linux user. It's like AA just kinda said "screw you." They coulda delayed the Windows client so that the Linux & Mac client coulda been ready and nobody would have known. Having just 1 guy do the porting doesn't help matters. I get tons of crashes trying to play in Windows, so I've just given up on the game for now. Don't think I even completed one round with 2.4. Bah.
