How does Tactical Gamer Work?
I have always been wondering this.
If the server is in Texas, and Apophis lives in Rhode Island, Root is in England, and all the admins are not from texas how does TG work. Is it a 3rd party server, or someone's home comp, or what?
How does the server crash, and then get fixed, who fixes it?
IF the HD fails who replaces it?
How does the site admins manage the site?
Where does the SM money go?
Does Apo have another Job?
Who is the best player ever?
What is the meaning of life?
How does Tactical Gamer Work?
Is CS:S more important that college?

Re: How does Tactical Gamer Work?
All of the TG servers are hosted in a large data center in Dallas, Texas. The data center handles any physical reboots needed as well as any hardware upgrade requests. I have remote access to all of the servers to install what I need and to maintain/patch the boxes. The data center offers some comprehensive tools to allow me to recover a server that has failed remotely.

The SM funds go to support the whole of the TG community. This includes the costs for the servers and bandwidth, software licenses (such as the forums software, TeamSpeak fees, etc), and minimal advertising that we kick off every now and then.
I do have another job. TG doesn't support me nor is it intended to. I work full time in the technology security/auditing field.
Who is the best player ever? That would be a toss up between two CS players. If I had to pick the most skilled players of all time, they would be Zebra and Scully.

Yeah, I agree. Except for that last bit. I mean, cmon. I implore you to answer this: in a fight, which would win?

Re: How does Tactical Gamer Work?
@beth: Naval Engineering? When are you graduating? Do you have a job lined up after school?
Is there anyone interested in R&D, or has a job currently, for developing user interface/weapon systems etc?

Re: How does Tactical Gamer Work?
Well, I'm a freshman and I need 145 credit hours to graduate witha degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. I was attending UNO(1 of only 5 schools in the U.S that offers either degree, and 1 of 2 that offers both as a dual degree, UNO's NAME program is also ranked first in the princeton review.), but it got closed down for a semester becasue of the hurricane. I am currently attending Nicholls State Univeristy (which doesn't even have an engineering program), and will transfer back next semester. The total process will take about 5 1/2 years + 2 years for a masters in Engineering, and another x years for a PHd in Engineering. I set my goals high, and I WANT to complete a masters program. I live in Louisiana, south LA as that, as if I don't have a job lined up. I can throw a rock to about 5 major shipyards near my house, and if I drive 10 minutes I can get to the 2 biggest Shipyards on the Gulf coast, one being owned by the 3rd biggest boat company in America. My area is loaded with jobs in the boat/ engineering industry. Also UNO guarantees an internship at an engineering facility when you have completed 90 credit hours of schooling. I got it made, and Engineering is something that I LOVE. So, I got this on LOCK DOWN
BTW, I was looking for a picture for lockdown, and I found this site, amazing pictures!!
