Re: TX LAN Party -- Update/Roster
I'm gonna call Chris Tom and say thanks but no thanks about his place. Cyberjocks seems a little more "professional" from what I've heard, so that's cool. Are we going to do this Saturday?
From CJ website: "To celebrate beating up on CyberJocksWNY in BF2 again the night before, we're going to have a BF2 6v6 tourney on Saturday! Individuals may register for this event online. Most people are probably not on teams so we'll make some here, or you can bring your team. Registration for this event is only $7.50 per person for a full afternoon and evening of BF2 action and prizes! Credits will be frozen during the event, no credits needed to play. Prizes: 1st - 3 Credits / Person + 1 CyberJocks Uebermat for the MVP 2nd - 2 Credits / Person + 1 CyberJocks t-shirt for the MVP 3rd - 1 Credit / Person" What do y'all think? Guess we'll decide once we get there -- Beat, can you PM me with the definite price-per-person since we're getting that private room. I'm a bit confused. I would call you , but it's still pretty early here. I'm also trying to get off from school a bit earlier so we can maybe meet up with y'all at TGIF at 9pm. It's not definite though. Either way -- see y'all tomorrow ! ![]()

Re: TX LAN Party -- Update/Roster
OK to clarify - what we were talking about at cyberjocks is NOT the tourney. That event is taking place at 2 pm, while we're eating burgers and hanging out in the sun Saturday afternoon. I told CJ we'd be there around 6 pm (after sundown), but that's flexible too.
The total price for the 'private' room is $20, the total price for a PC in the 'main' room is $15. Given that everyone's already sent $10 for LAN access to Suga, that means anyone who wants to play on a private room pc pays an additional $10, or if they're fine in the main room, $5. The big difference with the private room is you can bring beer, and the graphics cards are better. I'll call you in a few to discuss. Hope that's not too confusing... ![]()

Re: TX LAN Party -- Update/Roster
Is there a fridge in the private room, or do we need a drink cooler?

<insert witty comment about frigid women and beer coolers>
Good question.

Re: TX LAN Party -- Update/Roster
If some of us go to the private room then all of us should. Doesn't make a lot of sense to have a gathering and then segment it, does it?
Who all is coming and does anyone have a problem with the extra $$ for the private room? No shame in being broke and I can help chip in for anyone who's short on cash. |

Re: TX LAN Party -- Update/Roster
The private rooms (there are 2, maybe 3 of them) are immediately adjacent to the main room, and have big windows and a door with a big window in it, i.e. there's very little separation between the private rooms and the main room. They've got better graphics cards, and (I think) better headsets, and we can drink beer - those are the only differences. No fridge so we'll need our own coolers, which we should have from the park that day. There are 6 PCs per room, but we can fit 7 in one room since StrikeFear's bringing his own rig and they're going to set up a extra table for him in one of the private rooms.
We can figure out the whole situation when we get there - the CJ guy knows we're coming and will clear out enough space for us. We'll be closer together with some in one private room, and some in the main room just outside the room. This sounds a lot more complicated than it really is - I wish I took a pic while I was there! ![]()

Yeah, I can totally appreciate being broke and can chip in if someone can't come up with the extra 10 or something. We can't have a little detail like money crash our awesome time. I have to tell you guys, I totally called in to work today so I could get ready for this, and now I'm home all alone packing and junk and will be on the road on a long drive around lunch time, so if you feel the need to give me a break in my day, CALL ME! ::makes the 'call me' fingers:: I love talking to strangers! (PM for my digits!) Kisses! Sassy

Remember guys, take some pictures! Humiliation isn't public unless it's documented with photographic evidence.

Re: TX LAN Party -- Update/Roster
Hey gang, I guess I'll be joining up at Zilker park Saturday. I have to run around OKC this morning wrapping up some work so I'll probably just crash in Dallas tonight. A couple of questions, is the park big? Will it be obvious where we are? Any chance of someone putting up a TG on the pavillion?
Someone who knows Austin gimmie a call on my cell and let me know. 4056941718 My name is Nick FYI I'm staying at the Bradford Home Suites PS I will bring my camera ![]()

I'll ring you, Rince -- we'll probably go over to Beat's or Strike's Saturday morning to help get stuff ready to BBQ. Then I think we'll all be there around 11am. The park we've been given is called "PECAN GROVE" And no, we're not advanced enough to have a banner or anything yet. Maybe next time....................................... ![]() P.s. Pecan Grove info: Pecan Grove, located east of the playscape next to the left as you enter Zilker park from Barton Springs road, seating capacity 100, 2 long concrete tables with a head table, 1 large grill, electricity is available at the south area an additional cost payable in advance of the reservation, (3-110v each with 30 amp breaker duplex outlets) near head table, area is lighted. xoxo
