I heard one analyst say that they are so valuable, the brass will only want to bring them out on sunny days. Kind of like the Firebird you leave in your driveway and wax on the weekends while you drive your busted out Accord to work every day.

Besides, the JSF-35 is so much secksayer.

Heh, I've got a toy car like that. I love having it, but really, it is a luxury, not the best bang for the dollar.

They are different roles - I wouldn't give the JSF-35 much of a head-2-head chance.

Anyhow.. this was cool to see.. I had some snaps from Raptor delivery #1 at Langley.. nice piece of hardware.

I agree the f22 will probably see it's first conflict over taiwan.. or if it comes to it North Korea.. the f22 with f15s... *drool* Mr Mig 29 and mrs Sukoi 27 have it's hands full

The F22 would destroy the JSF in combat.. but the JSF can do ALOT more roles then teh F22 which is why it's a better aircraft.. more roles + cheaper cost = more planes
But the JSF couldn't do it's job to maximum perfection without fighter escort from the f22. a Mig 29 could probably give the JSF a run for it's money but in hands down obsolete compared to the Raptor.

Does the F22 or JSF have over the shoulder fire capability? Sorry, I don't know US aircraft too well.

It can carry two AIM-9m/-x internally. The X version has the ability to fire at 65deg off-boresight using the HMS targeting system.

See Wulfyn, if you were flying Falcon4 with us you would know this already!

edit: Although I'm sure there's more advanced technology they're conveniently leaving out of the public information.

I've been contemplating trying Falcon4 - I gave up on combat flight sims - mainly because there never was much new meat in them.. but now maybe..

Nah, I seriously mean over the shoulder... as in the aft hemisphere... as in behind you.

Don't think the AIM-9 is equipped for it tho, pretty sure you need an ASRAAM.

65 degrees... man the pilots must feel short-changed
