Far Cry
I just went out on impulse and bought this game and have to say on first impressions it looks good. I was thinking I wonder what's on that island in the distance and you can actually go to it, the landscape is just huge!
I'll be playing Multi shortly so what do I need for TG server, at the moment I just have the basic install from the DVD.?

I'm not sure why you didn't post this in the Far Cry forum.
There's a patch for it that you should get. I think the server has been updated to it but you should check the Far Cry forum. Don't expect much from MP. Not many here go on the server and the gameplay doesn't look that interesting. Hopefully, mods will make this game much more interesting for SP and MP.

I have looked at the mission editor and it's really cool. There's a lot to it and I haven't had time to learn the ins and outs. I'm not going to mess around with it unless there's a big following here. There's no co-op either and I don't feel like trying to figure out how to add it in.

i got it, i love it, but i cant bring myself to play it at 800x600 with no FSAA

I played all of the single player on a Ti4200 @ 1024 x 758 with all settings on high with no problem.
I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I needed to be.

I used roughly the same settings on a 9700 Pro and it ran great until the last couple of levels. I even used 4xAA and 8xAF. Originally Posted by Big-B

k
just dropped it to 1024x768 (was using TFT res of 1280x1024) using high on everything and FSAAx2 +TAAx2 (=FSAAx4 at FSAAx2 speeds) and AFx8 on performance settings and it seemed ok.....still alot of stuttering though, but then i need 1gig ram i think.From Adam Webb
