Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

I have some bad news. I will not be able to make the Saturday meeting, or any of the future dates, assuming the time doesn't change. I could almost guarantee being there every week if we could do it earlier. Maybe before 7pm EST? I can't remember how many people said they were available all day Saturday, if any. I don't want you all to go out of your way to fit into my wacky schedule, but I just thought I'd thrown it out there and see everyones thoughts. Thanks.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

I'm glad you posted mblatcher, because your questionable availability had me worried. I think we definately need to find a day and time when the three of us are all available.

I have nothing planned Friday night, and all day on Sat and Sun. But, Saturday has the greatest chance of something coming up for me. I would hate to have our meet planned and then have to bail at the last minute. Could you guys do Fri or Sun? If not, then I guess earlier on Sat will be the best.

PS: anyone else planning on coming (all are welcome and encouraged) please post your availability

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

I have bowling after work on Friday and I won't be available until after 10 my time which is midnight for you east coasters. Sunday is definately a no-go for me. I know my schedule sucks, but early Saturday afternoon is pretty much the only time I can manage.

I know we all want to do this every week. We could play each week by ear to get the whole group together. If there is a week where one of us is unavailable we can plan for the week after. Of course I am just saying that so I can play.

As a side note, I decided not to use the prestige class. I am going to make a halfling rogue/ranger if that fits into the group. I am just trying to work out the details. What is everyone else going to play?

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

How about this: We meet at 4 or 5 PM EST on Sat, then take a break for dinner and come back around 630 or 7. Would that work for you guys?

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

I could make it to the pre-break session, but not the post-break session, or at least not all of it. I need to be done by 7 EST.

By now you're all wishing I never signed up, huh? :P

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

Pheewww...ok, now since that's settled...

Will improved critical stack with keen? In 3.0 it did, in 3.5 it doesn't, but it is a common house rule. I allowed it when I DMed my group. I don't think it breaks anything and it certainly makes things more exciting.

I think the feat is pointless if they don't stack. Why spend a feat for it when you can grab another feat and have a keen weapon that does the same thing? IMO, feats are more valuable. Of course it is a different story when they do stack...doesn't get much better than having two keen kukri's with improved critical and improved two weapon fighting (15-20x2 crit range)!

EDIT:
I think confusion is why they changed the rule...it would be 12-20 crit range. Kukri is 18-20 (a range of three). Improved critical would double that, making it 15-20 (a range of six). Keen would give it another three, making it 12-20 (a range of nine).

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

So do we know if anyone else besides the three of us will be attending?

Oh yea, don't worry about the improved critical-keen thing above. I did something else, well, similar, but I found something else instead of improved critical. I have my character (all 20 levels) planned out, I know, I'm crazy like that. All I need is some one to watch me roll for ability scores.

Well, I hope to see a full group tomorrow, see ya then.

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

As you probably know, i sent PMs to everyone who posted on this thread. So far, I have a yes, a maybe, and a no. So, we should have at least 3 players, which is enough to start.

About your character, mblatcher, i think we need to talk. It seems to me you are thinking too much on the statistical side, and not enough on the developement side. I don't know if it was made clear, but i wanted everyone to talk to me before they started making their character at all, not just for rolls. Anyway, we will sort everything out tomorrow, hopefully. (if you want to talk before then, i'll be on TS)

Re: Dungeons & Dragons sign up

heheh, ok well let's talk then. I tried to contact you in TS, but your mic is muted. When I create a character I don't only think of stats, although I do like to have a complete picture of what my character will do each level, it makes leveling up easier. So let me know what you think, if I need to do something differently let me know.
