Re: TG TShirt

I am liking this idea also, it sounds cool. Even though I normally don't have any creative juices that flow that often, I have a really great ideas coming for this shirt if we have this compition.

Re: TG TShirt

I'm not sure how, or if any T-Shirts were done in the past, but here is a list of things to consider:

T-Shirts:
Type (Short VS Long, 100% Cotton vs Mixed vs Preshrunk)
Color (Neutral for male and female, something to consider with the design)
Design:
Colors (More colors = more expensive, colors that work together)
Design (Idea seeded to us vs Idea we come up with, size, location [front/back/pocket/sleeve], does it include text [some companies charge additional or less for text])
Printing:
Typical screen printing and bulk buy vs design available at e-store for members to purchase (I can get a HUGE bulk order here at school, very inexpensive, high quality, will ship).
Bought for minimal profit ("donation" to TG) vs Bought for absolute minimal cost (T-Shirt print and shipping vs T-Shirt + small extra and shipping).
Competition:
Prize? How many entries? Deadlines? Apoph have final vote, or will a voting group?
Things for DESIGNERS to consider:
Simple and tasteful. (The more intricate the design, the harder it will be to print and you may lose details, after all you are printing on T-Shirts)
Neutral (non gender biased, for the ladies).
Images should be created in 300 DPI or GREATER, probably in Photo Shop or saved in a Tiff format.

I think that is about it, just covering all the bases in case anything gets overlooked.

Re: TG TShirt

What about opening the competition to non-supporting members and give out a membership as a prize?

I like the idea! Or two big prizes: a vid card for the best SM entry and a year's membership for the best non-SM entry!

Re: TG TShirt

If you're trying to earn a prize, you might want to keep your creativity to yourself until the contest is hashed out...

If you aren't, then let's see more!

I want a "better than sliced bread" Tshirt!

I wouldn't accept a prize even if I won, and there is NO WAY I would win anyway... just the first thing that popped in my head.

Re: TG TShirt

I think we will also have to bear IP in mind. Ripping images of games to use for a commercial product might get us in trouble. If anyone uses a graphic they have not created for themselves then they would have to cite their source. If the work is original then they should sign something to that effect if their design is used.

Don't know if i'm going to enter anything, but just for reference, is there a place to download a high-res version of the TG logo?

Good words of wisdom. However, I don't think a "Membership/Club" T-Shirt is considered a commercial product, especially if it won't be sold for profit. I've made dozens of T-Shirt designs for clubs and organizations here on campus, and if the same rules apply to an organization like ours then we should be fine. At the very least we could use images distributed by game companies solely for this purpose, or ask for permissions from authors.

Re: TG TShirt

I'd recommend we respect the original artists of these works and not even think about ripping. Unless of course the image is explicitly labeled as a stock image.

Re: TG TShirt

Would it be alright if we used the images they provide with the website packages full of images? I haven't read through the EULA's that accompany those packages in a while so I can't remember.
