Do his eyes ever glow bright white?
And does he walk around carrying either a pitchfork, a slingblade, or a sickle?
Oh, and how far away is the nearest corn field?|TG|Delta_Swift

Re: Guitar Hero
Heheh... the kids love "I Love Rock N Roll"! It is the only song that my kids immediately liked. I only like it because it's easy and it makes me feel useful when the game is beating me down.

Re: Guitar Hero
OMGzors. I can't believe how misguided you all are.
You can buy a cheap mexican stratacaster copy for $200 or less. Using a power cord shape in five easy possitions you can play every song by Green Day (or any punk band), any status quo song or a million others. Learn four or five open chords and you can play every Dylan song or any other folk plus lots of standard rock. Dead easy, sounds good and far better than that crappy, crappy game.
He's good but not amasing. I probably know five or ten people that good.

Or something by clapton, hendrix etc.
EDIT: wow I just read this blurb for the second clip:
Dusty Ciggaar, the 14 year old guitarist of the Rhythm Chiefs Blues Band plays in Holland for the title of Best Young Guitar player 2005/2006
You can hear the Dutch jury comment but without understanding, you will realise that Dusty is the winner !Wintermute

Re: Guitar Hero
Ya, it has nothing to do with actually playing the guitar. It is using a guitar-shaped controller to have incredible fun. The game would be fun with a regular controller, but the use of the special controller pushes it up well beyond ordinary fun.
The statement that something would "sound better" than this game is silly, and could only come from someone who hasn't seen the game at all. The sound of the game is nearly identical to the original sound of the songs. The controller is NOT an instrument.
BTW, I am now at 20/30 in Expert. Slowly improving...
