What's your favorite film that isn't too popular?
Labyrinth has come up in these forums a few times and I bought it for my son (ok, actually for me) last year.
BraveHeart was popular when it was released, but I don't hear much talk about it anymore. Excellent film. I remember when it came out, lots of people talked about how violent it was, but watching it now, it doesn't seem that violent compared to other films. I guess society is becoming more desensitized? Eh, that's a discussion for the Sandbox... So, what's your favorite film that a lot of people here might not have seen?

Cube. I liked it but did not see it out much.

Hudson Hawk and The Adventures of Ford Fairlane top my "Cheesy Movies I Like But No One Will Watch With Me" list.

Memento.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0209144/ Most people I talk to have not heard of it, original story for sure.

Arlington Road with Jeff Bridges and a creepy Tim Robbins. Great story about the terrorist next door...and probably one of the best endings for a suspense/thriller movie. |

"I'm a MOG part man part dog...I'm my own best friend."
"Names Barf Short for Barfolomew" SPACEBALLS Bedazzled - Kind of an off movie...kind of cheezy but Brendan Fraser doing a Drug Lord, 7' Tall basketball player and the other rolls were funny and Elizabeth Hurley in light outfits are good as well. Hackers The Fifth Element (Not Sure if this was popular when it came out) Quicksilver RAD |

Donnie Darko
Terrible title, Excellent film. The Conqueror, John Wayne plays Genghis Kahn! (Best Worst movie ever.) Snatch. Dirt013 Memento was great.

Re: What's your favorite film that isn't too popular?
I think Snatch may be my all-time favorite movie... not sure if it "isn't too popular" though (??)
Red Dawn is an oldie but goodie... definitely shaped my adolescence... as the wall was still up, the concept of a russian invastion wasn't TOTALLY preposterous - we'd run around the woods w/ our pellet-guns, swiss-army and "rambo" knives, stashing canned goods and other "survival gear" edit: random trivia - Red Dawn was the very first Movie to receive a PG-13 rating.

Re: What's your favorite film that isn't too popular?
Equilibrium was actually a pretty good movie. i liked the firefight scenes. Super stylized hollywood firefights really well done imho.
Way of the Gun: Movie about 2 criminals kidnapping a pregnant surragote mother to ransom the fetus. Great firefight scenes there, very realistic in my opinion. Simple things like bullet strikes before shot being fired, muzzle flashes followed by bullet strikes followed by noise. Simple things... "Better off dead and cool, then alive and uncool" A quote (I think) from another favourite movie. |
