Thought this would be a cool idea what do u all think?

Hello all, i am a newer member and am consitently amazed at the gameplay that goes on these servers, we have some amazing firefights dont we, (i dunno maybe were i am a crewchief in the AF i dont get enough excitment lol so i turn to games) but basically my idea is this is a great community. And the more quality members we bring in the better. So why not make a promo (not porno all u youngsters out there lol) vid for the site? We could have some voice recordings of in game ts chatter with a killer song and gameplay footage. That and some cool flash or 3dmax work and poof, we would have a awesome promo for this awesome community later all off to the gym

Did that vid just feature RS stuff? A vid with a few different games and the stuff obuff55 mentioned would be killer. I would try to contribute if this was attempted

i checked the RVS dls but didnt seem to find the vid

anyone who still has it or has a link, that would be great ( or tell me i am stupied and missed it in the dls lol). But yes memory i was thinking more alone the lines of all the games blended in and it would be a project i would help out on too if needed. I am a photoshop guy mostly, but i have a few friends who know there max pretty well he he , any one who has been to the platoon would know javaman, and with a lil luck we might be able to get mike shell to help up but i don t know him much more then a aquantince but java knows him pretty well. Well later guys

I think we definitely could get some video from each game..

maybe we ask each game to get us 3-4 minutes of solid video to edit and then mix em all together! :-)

Apo maybe you could throw them on some of those mini biz card size CDs and use those as hand outs

I think most people will use Fraps, as it's much easier. Besides, I think that "demos" are pretty much a HL thing...

I suggest that anyone wanting to contribute video to this product ensures that it's done on a high end machine and that all the visual effects are turned on. ESPECIALLY anti aliasing!

I wouldn't want this done as demos.. It would all have to be recorded as an AVI in a fixed resolution across all games.

You can always record a demo, then play it while recording with fraps. I've found this keeps you from having any drag while recording because fraps eats up a lot of CPU power doing it's conversion, while demos use the engine.

Were you thinking something like 640x480 res at like 20 FPS?

It would be cool to get a couple of NS clips. Something like a marine saying "All Clear" then having a skulk jump down and bite him in the head.

Ns team has plenty of demos, they just need to crop out the good scenes witch will be hard cause the game is 24/7 good.

If you could dig through some of the uploaded demos and give me a gametime that something truely epic went on, I would be happy to record just that and get it hosted. It would be in a playable .avi format.

Fenix, get the 05/16 ns_eclipse demo from the NS Gen Forum. That was an epic game, to be sure. I only have a demo of the alien side. There is an ns_origin demo that we have both sides of.. it could be used with some incredible video editing techniques showing both sides of the same melee on the screen at the same time.
