Re: I'm an official developer

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Re: I'm an official developer
I just wonder if the HL engine can handle the kinds of physics and player movement required for something like that. Melee combat can be more involved, but then again: I am by no means a coder.

hmm... you better get on the ball then, look at the project status thingy... Sprites: 0%, the only thing thats in the same state as sprites is mapping!

So is going to be a one-on-one fighting game a la Street Fighter, but in first person? The wbesite doesn't really make it clear except going on about stamina and special moves.

Re: I'm an official developer
I'm not even sure about that yet.. But at first, it will be Team Deathmatch, and as we release more updates, will will eventually release single player, and you can play the movie! =)

Re: I'm an official developer
From my experience in playing JK1/2 and JA: melee combat from a first person perspective does not work. Especially with the acrobatics that you would want for an Inuyasha type game. You are literally going to give yourself motion sickness trying to keep track of your opponent. Also, just trying to keep the opponent in your FOV borders on impossible.
I would recommend you test this out by playing J-O (should be in the bargain bin by now). Against slow moving opponents (stormtroopers) it's not an issue, but when you have the ability to jump 8x what a normal human could and move like a blur, you need to have a wider view and 3rd person gives you that.

Re: I'm an official developer
