Re: Battlestar Galactica Watchers?
I was wondering quite a bit how much those particular cylons evolved in the same 150,000 years as man. Assuming technological evolution advances at an exponential rate, and given their head start...who knows! Whatever they are now, though, I doubt they see mankind as any sort of veritable threat...
Another thing I've been thinking about is how much chief Tyrol was kicked in the teeth there at the end. The three women he loved (Tori, Boomer and Cally) were all killed in quick succession, albeit Tori at his own hands. He also found out Cally was cheating on him and therefore the baby was not his. Boomer used his feelings to escape and kidnap Hera, etc. etc...
So I thought it interesting that Baltar could be a dog the whole series and find redemption at the end, but Tyrol could have integrity throughout the shows running but still end up with footprints all over his back...
Anyway, it was fulfilling even though it was "Deus Ex Machina" through and through. Enjoyable nevertheless...

Re: Battlestar Galactica Watchers?
I finally got around to watching the finale last night and must say that it exceeded my expectations.
It's too bad that such a great show had to end, but that was a hell of a way to go out.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Watchers?
..Well..I just Finsished BSG (Watched about 6 epeisodes on DVR in the past 3 days..). What a Great show. What a shame it had to end..but they did it justice. Nothing too sickly sweet.. very solid. I'm not sure the implications with Baltar and the "6" (Blondie..Is she a six?) at the end...are they real? Beyond real? A manifestation of the "gods" etc..?
Also.. Cavil (Dean Stockwell) offed himself at the end of the last battle there... before they got the resurrection technology..wiki stated it was a suicide out of desperation... Does that make sence..? I'm not sure..
I really have to go back and watch the first two seasons to refresh myself.. and I think I missed alot when they were on New Caprica..
Seems like it went fast.. I remember when Richard Hatch was pushing for a remake (He really needed a job I guess..)..He should be happy what this series did ..and how it even out did the original in so many ways.
And why the "FRAK" do the actors from BSG get no resepect from the Emmy's... I suspect it is the Sci-Fi content and the Sci-Fi network.. Katee Sackhoff should have pulled a best actress easily last season... GRRR..|TG|ARMA Pathfinder
..now where did I put my keys?

I really hated the "let's give up technology and go native" bit. And I particularly hated that they felt it necessary to send their ships into the sun. Why not park them around an outer planet?
The whole going native bit was just heads in the sand. Better to embrace ignorance and starvation than use what you've learned to avoid mistakes in the future. How very luddite.
I liked the style of the ending, but I hated the message.Dude, seriously, WHAT handkerchief?
snooggums' density principal: "The more dense a population, the more dense a population."
Iliana: "You're a great friend but if we're ever chased by zombies I'm tripping you."

Re: Battlestar Galactica Watchers?
You do realize there's more than one model of "cylon girl"? Six (Grace Park) is my favorite.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Watchers?
IIRC:
Grace Park is eight, Tricia Helfer is six, Lucy Lawless is three.

My bad, you're right:

And I never realized that Lucy Lawless was under that blonde hair! I'm so used to seeing her as a brunette in skimpy leather, of course.

While she may look softer, she acts harder.

Re: Battlestar Galactica Watchers?
From the Onion article:
Who would have guessed that Obama was a browncoat?"I'm a little concerned," first lady Michelle Obama was overheard saying at a fundraising event Tuesday. "When Firefly was canceled, he walked around like a zombie for a week, and Serenity was the only thing that snapped him out of it. Last night he said he felt like he had just discovered David Axelrod was one of the Final Five, whatever that means."
