[joke]
Hey guys, I have a great idea! Let's just reset the rep, and make it so that we can't see everyone else's bubbles!

Re: Reputation System
I like being able to tell people when I liked thier posts. I review my recent rep area pretty regularly and really appreciate the notes people have left regarding something I've said.
Edit. Interesting my over-all rep didn't drop at all so I guess whoever was stuffing the box didn't like me

Re: Reputation System
Thanks for the quick restoration, Apophis. I'm sure this stuff is frustrating for you. +rep

Seems only 20% of my rep came from the "rep farmers". Better than what I'm hearing from a few people around here.Peace through fear... since 1947!

Re: Reputation System
Well, without it being displayed anywhere, the actual numerical value won't mean anything anywhere. It's more a method of feedback to individuals about their posts.
I'm toying with the new awards system too. It looks like this will work out VERY well and be easy to implement across the ENTIRE community rather than just BF2..

I have a lot of work to migrate and populate the new system. So any ribbons showing up now are for testing purposes. Don't feel bad if your ribbons aren't there yet!

Re: Reputation System
Ohh.. I was hoping the postbit would get shorter. Wait till Bommando gets his ribbons populated!
Bubbles being shown didn't much matter to me. Points didn't mean much either, since everyone's power was so wildly different.

Re: Reputation System
There is a horizontal postbit that runs across the top rather than the right hand side... We could use that instead. But it looked kind of funky when I played with it last.

Re: Reputation System
I personally don't mind much either way. However, that awards system looks great - even better if we institute a bunch of new ribbons for other games

Re: Reputation System
Yea, I've never much cared for forums that use a vertical postbit. Not that it looks bad, per se, but I'm just so used to the ones that run next to the posts that they feel unnatural. I know you aren't referring to changing the entire postbit (or maybe you are?), but even having only the ribbons up top would look kinda funny, IMO.
Maybe the ribbons don't need to be enumerated in each post, but just a link to the specific spot in the profile where all the ribbons are shown... Like a generic ribbon next to the post count?
