Re: The beer thread
What do I care. I already have all the kids I want. If I have to turn into a woman to continue my beer drinking I guess I better get fitted for a bra.

Re: The beer thread
Spaten Optimator had been mentioned several times so I bought one. One is all that is needed.
It is a very good beer.

Re: The beer thread
We're getting into Oktoberfest season and I'm really excited. I need to go to Costco son and see if they're selling 12-packs of Paulaner or Spaten Oktoberfest this year. Paulaner is better IMO but I wouldn't turn down a Spaten either.

I was at a Costco recently and saw they already had the Samuel Adams Octoberfest 24-case bottles on sale already (24 bottles for $24).

Re: The beer thread
I tried some Boston Lager Samuel Adams last night out with some friends. I didn't like the hoppy aftertaste so I don't think I'm drinking another bottle of sam Adams anytime soon.
On a side note, there was a 20,000+ beer fest up north and a U2/Snow Patrol concert at Soldier Field last night. So when my friends and I went out for Korean BBQ, we landed at the beer fest getting off of the train and I had to wade through crowds of people going home because of both of those large events.

Re: The beer thread
Geez, I wanted to try some christmas beers last year. So I bought a good quantity of what I wanted and it definitely was a horizon broadening experience. But man when people use pine tree to brew that can get interesting.
I wonder what birch beer is like....
Try the Sam Adams Brown Ale or the Boston Ale, Acreo.

Re: The beer thread
Sticking with the local again and enjoying a bottle of Nimbus Brown Ale. I think I'll head down to the brewery this weekend for a burger and a nitro-poured stout.
