Re: The beer thread
I live in Milwaukee so it's an unwritten local law to drink Miller.

Re: The beer thread
It's a little late now, but if you can still find Anchor Brewery's (they make Anchor Steam) Christmas Ale - BUY IT. It's definitely one of the top 5 beers I've ever had.

personally, Pilsner Urquell is my favorite after I've had a workout and need to re-hydrate. I'm interested in trying Cantillon Lambic since someone somewhere said that it was to beer what Laphroaig is to scotch, which is the same as saying "you have no choice but to try it." mind you, i like a strong, challenging taste experiences |

For those who mentioned liking German beers...have you tried Hacker Pschorr? Had it a couple of times and really liked it. |

Re: The beer thread
Yuengling, the beer of gods.
You can walk into any bar in PA and ask for "a lager"; they should give you a Yuengling without asking any questions (if they know who they are and what they're about). Outside of PA, no go. Shakey, you like some hmmmm beer, my friend. And that's coming from someone who drank Yuengling exclusively for 5 years. I salute you. really. of course, you may disagree with my estimation of your beer, but i'm hoping you agree and take pride. |

Re: The beer thread
We had a keg of Yuengling and bottles of Wittekerke and Hoegaarden (both fine fine Belgian Whites) at my brother's new years eve party. Those beers + Tequila = very silly Beatnik.
![]() When we picked up the keg, the cute middle-aged Cuban checkout lady said "Ay, poppy you guys got a keg of the Jing-a-ling?!" So of course for the rest of the weekend everyone was pounding "the Jing-a-ling". ![]()

The sick irony of it is: they don't sell it in Arkansas. I had to have a friend bring it in from North Carolina when he came into town and I've been out for over a year ![]() |

Re: The beer thread
Shakey, Yuengling has distributors in Alabama if you are willing to take a little road trip. I was actually surprised at how popular it is down here, Florabama. I thought it was just a Pennsylvania/New Jersey/Delaware phenomenon when I was at Villanova. Also, for those who enjoy light beers Yuengling Light Lager might just be the best light beer (lager) out there.

Re: The beer thread
Not sure if anyone outside of Texas can get it yet, but Real Ale Fireman's #4 has been a local favorite in bars for at least a couple years now, and they finally started bottling the stuff. It's a blonde ale, a bit hoppy but nowhere near as much as an IPA. It's a beautiful beer.
