Re: The beer thread
Probably not easily.
I've only found it in a high end, specialty foods place here in the bay area. I spotted it and picked up a couple of six-packs recently based on some of the testimony in this very thread. I'm glad I did. It's easily one of the best American beers I've had.

Re: The beer thread
I love beer.
Living in Germany(Bayern) for four years, you really get a tast of what good beer is. 99% of what I use to drink over there, you can get here in the US, because they were Micro-brews.

Re: The beer thread
I've been around the world and have enjoyed many fine beers. On the east coast, a Yuengling Black & Tan is my fav. Here in TX, I love Shiner '97. In Germany, I'm all about the "1878" and also the "Perminator."

Re: The beer thread
I can't get enough of Amstel Light right from the bottle.
Boddingtons is great also, but better as it warms up. Anchor Steam, but rarely can get anyone I know to join in. (more for me) And for the widely available, good on a hot day, Michelobe Ultra, extra cold draft is not bad at all! |

Re: The beer thread
Sierra Nevada Pale Ale was on sale last week so thats what I have in the fridge now. I might have to take a trip to my favorite high end beer place (Papago Brewery at Scottsdale and McDowell for all you Phoenicians and suburbanites) and see if Rogue Juniper Pale Ale is in stock. Either way, that place is always good for a pick six.
Only four more months until Paulaner Oktoberfest starts to migrate to the shelves!

Re: The beer thread
This is some really good stuff.
Olde Suffolk English Ale. The sad thing is I can't buy it in Oklahoma and I only had one pint.

Re: The beer thread
I recently picked up a six pack of a beer imported from the Philippines.
San Miguel is the brand of beer I picked up. From my initial tastes I liked it for the smoothness, initial flavor, no aftertaste to speak of and no rotten egg smell that I get from some domestics. I still have two bottles left from a six pack. Though I have only consumed one bottle. Wonder how that little conundrum came about. ![]() |
