I am glad that it's available nationwide, though! I've gone through a few sixpacks of Fat Tire over the years...

It's not available here in Michigan. If I want to get Fat Tire I have to go to Chicago and get the 22's. They don't sell it by the 6 pack in Chi-town.

I looked online to see if I can order it, last I checked I couldn't. But that was a while back. I have a girlfriend who brings me Fat Tire and other great colorado beers when she comes to visit. Thank god for her!

That sucks. I've had it or have seen it in California, Texas, North Carolina, Georgia and New York, so I just figured they had nationwide distribution...

Now, if only Leinenkeugels were available down here. My wife fell in love with their Berry Weiss.

Though I have only consumed one bottle. Wonder how that little conundrum came about.
San Miguel exported is (was) much better than the locally produced stuff.

The rumor was, because refrigeration is rare in the Philippines, formaldehyde is added as a preservative.

I don't know if that is true but the San Miguel bought off base did have a certain wang and smell to it. Of course after about 12 of them you didn't notice any more.

The stuff on base was very good.

Check around. After seeing this post yesterday, I randomly spotted some of this sold in a convenience store last night. Grabbed a bottle of their Summer Wheat and was blown away. It was a great wheat beer with a little tangy aftertaste. I'll be looking around for this some more - most likely Spec's or Whole Foods will have it.

    Re: The beer thread

Whoa, didn't know this thread existed until now... I've been visiting this great little pub in the Little Italy of my town and they stock 100's of beers from all over. They have the "Beer Bible", which is a lovely book listing the available beers and short descriptions.

Since everybody covered pretty much a variety of great beers, I'll post ones that I've hated. Feel free to try the gross beers I mention... because you might actually like it!

KLB Raspberry Wheat - My friend liked it. I think it tasted like cherry cough syrup. Not the new stuff, but like the old school prescription expectorant cough syrup type.

Dragon Stout - A dark beer... almost black. My friend also liked this one. I think it tasted like beer that had been roasted in a dragon's mouth and passed out its behind.

Smoked Schlenkerla Beer - I'm kind of glad I didn't order this beer for myself. It was ok for one sip but thinking about it later made me feel a little sick. It had a strong smokey flavour similar to smoked foods. It didn't really taste like beer at all and was so dark that it looked like sludge. Again, my friend liked this one.

Blue Paddle is a good Pilsner Lager if you like that.
Also, it is made by the brewer of Fat Tire.

I personally like a Black and Tan now and then so I use Guinness and Blue Paddle.

How in the world have i missed this thread?

Well my game-name is my favorite beer and one of my two dogs is named Ziegen Shiner Bierman...

Oh and the best part is that my last name is Bierman or BEEEEEEEERman if you were in my frat.

I also enjoy Fat Tire or Killian's Red on occasion as well.

    Re: The beer thread

Just picked up some Killians today.
Has anyone been listening to beerschool podcast. I usually listen to it since one of the hosts is on a tech podcast I listen as well. Pretty funny they usually imbibe the brews as they talk about them. Not anything too indepth into the breakdown of the beer. They just want for people to enjoy their beers and spread knowledge of the beer they have tried.

    Daytime beers:
Almost any mexican beers, but I'm loving Tecate lately, but of course Corona is always good.
Wittekierke - similar to a belgian white (like Blue Moon/Hoegaarden) that comes in cans.
Although I'm more of a wine drinker, here is my list.

-Palm: a brownish beer, with a ver soft full taste
-Jupiler: the most popular beer in Belgium, they became famous with the slogan "Men know why". Goo dpr to say the least .
-Orval: An -attempt at translation- "abbey-beer"
-Guiness: different from any other beer I know.

    On Hoegaarden:
My father in his small scale metal-construction company actually made the signs they hung on the sides of shops for a long time. Now they are in AMBEV and the production may be relocated to another brewery in Belgium. Many fear for the jobs and also the preservation of the taste.

On "Wittekerke" funny you mention this beer. It doesn't exist very long, and was actually named after a popular Flemish soap-opera which was named after a village in its turn. So it was launched as PR contrary to most beers here.
