Re: Good War Movies

U571 isnt to bad.

Enemy at the gates is great movie, i actually got that one in the walmart bin. Wind talkers is a great movie, kind of over the top but still good

Any movie with John Wayne is good also. Sorry i guess you guys should make FMJ a requirement to be SM at TG, i feel like i let my team down...

another good one is memphis bell, its a WW2 about the bombers over Europe

Re: Good War Movies

I fully recommend against watching Pearl Harbor. It was on Fox or WB or something last saturday, I think. It was long, boring, cheesy, and historically inaccurate. The only part that was half way bearable was the 20 minute long action scene over Pearl Harbor. And, even that was pretty bad.

The Wild Geese

It's older, but an absolute must see!

Cheers.

The Guns of Navarone is one of the few old movies that I've enjoyed.

Re: Good War Movies

Enemy at the gates is even cooler than playing the russian campaign on CoD1.

oh and *wow* at you never seeing Full metal. I can just watch it now to make up for you not watching it, then we're square.

Great movie! For a similar, somewhat obscure WW2 movie try one of my faves, Where Eagles Dare

Re: Good War Movies

The Lost Battalion. It was a WW1 war movie about a battalion that was cut off in the middle of a forest.

And of course blackhawk down is the best war movie ever made, as long as you dont look during the surgery scene

Re: Good War Movies

You guys keep mentioning BlackHawk Down, so I feel compelled to inform you of my pride at having had as a firearms instructor one of the most infamous chicken assassins that Mogadishu has ever seen. This Inquirer story is a good one, too.

Re: Good War Movies

Band of brothers was simply amazing though. Of course its like a 13hr long movie if you watch them back to back, its awesome.

Re: Good War Movies

I second the suggestion of Memphis Belle. That's the best World War II movie I've seen.
