    Good War Movies

I looked around and seen we dint have one of these. My wife is gone till next Thursday which gives me plenty of nag-free time to watch my War/Classic Action movies. I have some of the classics and some new ones:

    Patton
    Platoon
    Saving Private Ryan
    We where Soldiers
    Band of Brothers
    BHD
    Forest Gump (best movie ever)
    Basic
Rambo 1 2 3 (you know you like them)

and a few others. Any body else got a good movie of this type that might be good to watch. Could make some great movie selections and discussion.
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Full Metal Jacket is a classic. The Alamo Drafthouse theater is playing Kubrick's films in full re-mastered goodness this summer. I really hope that one makes the cut.

The original of "Three Kings" was good IMO.

My all time fav is Band of Brothers, but I think it would have been better if set as a story about a British troop.

    The Dirty Dozen
    Green Berets
    Platoon (Mentioned)
Full Metal Jacket (Mentioned) of course, one of my all-time favourites

Can't think of many others, aside from the already well knowns like the two I mentioned up there and others like Saving Private Ryan, BHD and the like.

Man there are some great flicks here! Enemy at the Gates was an awesome movie, I can't believe I forgot about it.
(gets the notepad out) Time to go bargin-bin diving (although, Enemy at the Gates isn't old and I don't think it's bargin bin material yet)
Da Boot was a good one..
    The Great Escape aswell

    So many oldies out there!

Well this might not fall exactly in this catagory but a good Submarine movie is "Das Boat" and you can't forget "Midway" and "Tora Tora Tora"
