Re: Super Bowl 2007
First let me say congratulations on the new little one on the way
Second duck! after that comment to your wife
It's a lot of work and patience. The best advice I can give you is trust your instincts and common sense. If you are true to yourself you will be true to your new child.

Re: Super Bowl 2007
That's terrific news Trooper. My wife just had her first preliminary ultrasound this morning and we saw our baby moving around. Always magical to see. This will be our second, due in early Dec.
You're both about to go on a wonderful ride. In your shoes I'd google "pregnancy week-by-week" and check out some of the weekly calendars there - it's fun and interesting to see what's going on with baby, your wife, and you too! Lots of expectant Dads go through the same sorts of worries and fears at roughly the same time during the pregnancy, and sometimes it's nice to know that you're just behaving as expected and not merely freaking out.
My best friend told this to me when we were expecting our first. He said
"I know you're not stupid but I've seen a lot of my friends not get this and they're just not happy until they do.
What you're about to see you wife go through, and the child she'll deliver, is going to put you in a deep hole in terms of what you owe her. Chris Rock talks about how it's the man's job to 'make the lady happy', and he tells some funny jokes but at the end he says 'so be a man. Get up, go out, and do your job.'
Make the lady happy."
That was terrific advice for me.
It's not always easy either. The hormones are really strong and will often cause insane glares to head in your direction. When it happens, just be a man, and do your job. Also, hug her a lot.
Congratulations!

You should make your child become a crazed fan for whoever wins. Another packer fan added to the list (wishful thinking).
The art of war is simple enough. Find out where your enemy is. Get at him as soon as you can. Strike him as hard as you can, and keep moving.

Re: Super Bowl 2007
congrats on the new addition. Leejo and Drizzid have good advice that I can't disagree with after three kids. Because this is your first I recommend two books.
#1 "What to expect when you are expecting". Good book that goes week by week explaining how your wife's body and baby's body is going to change.
#2 "What to expect the first year". Same as above but it is for the first year of the kid's life."Umm Deputy these aren't my pants" - Common alarm cry of the North American Crackhead
