Negative. Don't forget, we have supporting members that have only stopped in to say "Hi" a couple of times over the last several years...

Like it or not, this community includes people that aren't still active here. People that helped shape TG into what it is today. People that continue to support TG so that everyone else can enjoy it.Become a supporting member!

Re: 10,000
10,000 is quite a bit, I remember running my Rose online community early in 2005, and reached 1,000 members that was a good feeling having something so sucessful and to take off. Nice milestone.
btw, how do I tell which number I am?|TG-12th|Undead

Thanks. I hate that "new feeling" I wish I could be somewhere in the 100's.

Re: 10,000
Congrats Apo! Now the big questions is: Will we ever have more members than CingDual has Posts?

Re: 10,000
Clearly, Cing, Supporting Members would not be pruned (that is, you're not even pruned for two years after your last payment, even if your last post was longer ago). And I agree, I'm not married to the idea I threw out, but this business about us feeling good about a bunch of abandoned forum registrations belonging to people who haven't for so long cared enough about us to either log in or send cash seems, for lack of a gentler word, folly.
I'm all for milestones. "Yay us," and all that, for sure. But let's pat ourselves on the back by determining how many people today actually care enough to contribute contemporarily, not by celebrating a number mostly composed of people who decided they had more important stuff to do with their time. I'd much rather hear about what I'm sure is an impressive count of warm bodies actually making this endeavor happen (cash or communicating) every month.Steam Community? Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Re: 10,000
We do prune on occasion. But I am ususally VERY liberal with the requirements. If the difference between your last login and your first login is less than 86,400 seconds, and your last login is more than 365 days ago, you'll get pruned. That gets a lot of the one-time accounts.
If you made an account more than 30 days ago and have NOT completed the e-mail activation, you'll get pruned fairly quickly.
There are a couple thousand unique accounts active over the course of any given month.

I'm really not looking for downsides to this. It's just a milestone, neat. Doesn't require much debate.

Re: 10,000
I think it would be cool to see what brought in the most players. How many before BF2 and how many After bf2. And what percentage are SMs. Still a very cool number to hit, and all the hard work that went into building it to that is nuts. nice work TG
that sounds like a good idea trooper.
