Yup, you are mealy relieving all his suffering by sending him to the heavens with your star like presents, only so he can reborn again to exchange the favor.

What did they arrest you for? Who was the complainant?

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
To me, "frag" is what the pubbies and UT2k4 people use to describe their game kills. It's very "l337". If it makes you feel more comfortbale, then that's your thing, and it's fine. I don't intend to PC it up because of stupid parents and Jack Thompson, however.
It's kinda like in paintball, where the officials refer to the guns as "markers". It's a gun, get over it; kowtowing to the rediculous solves nothing.

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
Hmmm...when I shoot somebody in paintball I say I "tagged" them. Seems appropriate.

It's the nomenclature of the game...if people don't understand that then we as gamers should take the time to explain it to them...starting with, "it's just a game."
Cheers.

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
So do I. I was referring to the officials (refs and such) insisting that the things are called paintball "markers" instead of guns, as if for some reason that solves some problem. In relation, I don't think using the word "frag" instead of "kill" in a video game solves anything.

The police were trying to make me an example of "Good teens turn evil"... Especially when they saw my AIRSOFT gear when they came in (in which my mom thought they HAD to come in) they took pictures and noted my ghillie suit, and almost took my guns. I hadn't even done anything. There was ONLY her word as proof, but they said thats all the needed to arrest me. It's pathetic.

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
As far as i recall the term frag was first coined for Doom. I remember taking my computer to my mate's and hooking us up via a null modem cable and fighting it out to 20 frags. Killing someone by them standing in a teleport spot that you teleported into was called a tele-frag for sure. Gibbing also comes from Doom, where you would kill a monster with such force that instead of a dead body all you got were body-bits (or giblets). I am not sure but this may have been coined from Doom2 not 1, where you would need to 'gib' a monster in order to prevent an Archville from resurrecting them. I still hate those fiery bastards.
I don't think Spear of Destiny / Castle Wolfenstein had multiplayer so it was probably not used there.

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
I personally think that using frag is a pubbie thing, and goes hand in hand with leet speak. BF2 is a modern game with guns, and it is simulating somebody killing someone else in real life, thus, killed. Frag would be used in a futuristic game or an explosive kill from, for example, a frag grenade.

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
I completely disagree with categorizing the term frag with leet speak.

When I hear Frag it also makes me think UT2004. How about kill + s = skill
He got skilled

Re: Lingo: "Frag" instead of "Kill"
I don't know about putting them in the same category, but leet speak certainly comes to my mind as well. It just seems to be a term used by immature gamers, or in games that don't belong at TG. Just like "pwned".
