it really sucks that CBGB's is closing down. Ive seen some kick ass bands there and had some great times.
Best chinese food (if you like that stuff) - Sammys noodles on 7th and Bowery. They give you a metric TON of food and its SO heavenly.

If you're up for some GREAT Italian food .... go to CARMINES ( Carmines - New York, NY - Insider Pages )
I grew up in New York and Carmines was and still is one of my FAVORITE Italian resturants.
Mind you, I am from a VERY " Italian " family and for me to say this is good food .. it is good food !!!!

GO SEE SPAMALOT!!!!! the broadway rendition of Monty Python's Holy Grail. I was just there and hit the WTC, statue of Liberty, Empire State (aviod at all costs, the line took 4!!!!!!!!!!! hours, even though outside is said 60-90 minutes... you will waste your whole day.) subway from times square to battery park and back (everyone need to experience the subway) times square, and 5 broadway shows. on 45nd and 8th (i think... its across from Milford Plaza, is a great little italian joint, there are 6 or 7 others right there on broadway.)
