Advice from the Australian TGers needed
My parents have the good fortune of going to Australia next year and they don't know exactly where they would like to go. So I told them I would ask for some advice from a very reliable source. So if anyone who lives in Australia or has taken a vacation there that has any advice that I could pass along to my parents I would greatly appreciate it.
Now what they are looking for is, to use the cliche, the best of both worlds. They would like to be able to see the vast and varied country and wildlife but also have some city amenities. I don't know if this exists and I don't know how long they will be there but any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Well to make you feel better Acid anytime you ask a TGer for help it's reliable......unless they have the number 12 in front of their name

Re: Advice from the Australian TGers needed
Were they planning to try and stay around one city (and have the amenities + wildlife there) or travel around a bit?
Recently, train services between some of the major cities have started up, focusing on actual tourism and enjoyment of the journey rather than hauling commuters from place to place, and I've heard quite a few good things about those. You might want to take a brief look at this: http://www.trainways.com.au/our-trai...he-journey.php or http://www.trainways.com.au/our-trai...he-journey.php I'm just about to head off here, so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

... unless you have shock paddles with you.
I'd be interested in what others say as well: Looks like I may be headed down to Brisbane on bidness early next year, and I may have to stay over a bit to <wink, wink> fight the jet lag. All I know right now is to avoid the discount "swim with the manta rays" places. ![]() |
