Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Re: New Icons...
Bugmenot is NOT the type of thing you'll really want to use with Digg. It's a social driven news/content site, having a unique account is an important aspect of the whole thing.

Re: New Icons...
I want the content, and not the social. BugMeNot is a great solution.

Re: New Icons...
I guess, but the point of this functionality was to help Tactical Gamer. It creates exposure for us that helps grow the community. The same result is not achieved by using something like BugMeNot.
There's no content in Digg that you need an account for anyway. You can see everything there without an account, the only purpose for an account is to submit content. If you're submitting content from an account with a questionable reputation, it does nothing but HARM TG rather than help.

Re: New Icons...
That's interesting. How does someone become popular?

Re: New Icons...
By submitting good content that is both unique and worthwhile to the rest of the Digg community. People start adding you as a "friend" because they are interested in the content you provide.
If you provide bad content, people tend to just see your name and "bury" the story, regardless of what it is. Hence the reason accounts with no accountability (heh) can hurt the sites they submit content for. Most of these accounts get used to spam blogs with ads and such.
As you build up friends that are interested in your content, they start digging your stories simply because you posted them, increasing the changes that the story/content you provide gets pushed to the front page of the site.

Re: New Icons...
Something about that seems icky to me. Reminds me of high school. It sounds clique-ish. I want to know that the popularity of the content itself, not the messenger, drove a submission's "ranking".
Maybe that's asking too much.Steam Community? Add me. | Join #tacticalgamer | Search Results Legend | New Posts Forum Filter | Postbox Toggle | Live Thread Review | One Line Results | Free Remote, Encrypted Backup

Re: New Icons...
Well, it can be clique-ish. But if you start digging content from someone that you feel is consistantly submitting valuable content, you're helping to promote that content to more people. The more people that see the content, the more people that will influence the contents value. Many of the really good items that show up on the front page only got there BECAUSE they were "seeded" in this manner. Without that seeding, they never would have made it and very few people would ever see it.
