I shuffle now by assigning each of the cards a random number (0-1,000,000) doing a selective sort on the bunch, and then dealing from the top. A few other tweaks and I can do a round (10 hands dealt, evaluated, and stats compiled) in just 3 seconds now. Most of that time seems to be taken up in the logic to scan the seven cards and determine what type of hand it is.

Soon I'll pull the files over to my home box (2.2 GHz which was doing the old 10-sec method in just under 3 sec) and see how she goes.
