Re: The Most Scary PC Game Ever
Resident evil gave me the biggest scare , because usually when you enter a new room or something well your expecting something that will scare you off , but i never expected those arms coming out of the windows in a room i cleared a while back that , and my sister screaming , that was a few years ago scared the **** out of me.

Re: The Most Scary PC Game Ever
System Shock 2 does the best job of atmospheric fear and general creepiness. Simply being alone on a ship with only fleeting glimpses of other survivors and robbed hopes is actually a very effective horror technique. Besides, the screeching cyborg midwives and hissing spiders. *shudder*
I also like the Cradle level in Thief3. Not seeing anything, at all, for the entire first half of the level, but constantly being keyed up is again very atmospheric. When the tapping starts in the attic and I slowly crept up there, the obvious jump scare tension kept growing until I kicked open the door. The light behind me caused what seemed to be a shadow racing at me, so I threw a flashbomb in and slammed the door. It was my own shadow. :/

Re: The Most Scary PC Game Ever
Fun Fact: The guy who made the Shalebridge Cradle in Thief 3 was the main brain behind the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion (just about the only acceptably decent part of the game).
Another big 'creepiness' in SS2 was the voice of the Many. "What is a drop of rain, compared to the storm? What is a thought, compared to the mind? Our unity is full of wonder, which your tiny individualism cannot even conceive."
