I'm going to get one too. My five year old got a HoverChopter last year. It was pretty lame. She will love the Pico z.

Can you get two of them at different frequencies so you can battle?

Yeah there are 3 frequencies available. They are labeled A, B, and C on the box. Good luck finding one. I have searched all over knoxville and Nashville and haven't been able to find another one.

Well the after Christmas rush is over and the micro copters are back. They are now being sold under the name "Airhogs Havoc Heli" and are sold at Wal-mart and target in the toy section for $29. I picked up 2 more at my local wal-mart, one for me and one for my wife

Beware of Hobbytron. Silverlit (the Picoo z manufacturer) is suing them for selling clones. It looks like the heli's at hobbytron are knock-offs and according to several accounts don't fly very well at all.

I got a Micro Xcopter for christmas. I think it's the same as a Pico Z, but I'm not sure.

It's not too easy to fly. I added weight to the nose for a bit more control keeping it going forward.

I'm tempted to take it outside on a windy day just to see what happens. lol

Not good stuff that's for sure. Adding just a bit of weight will help you. Nothing heavier than a thumb tack though.

I got one for x-mas and noticed the tail rotor is way to weak... the torque-steer from adjusting the main-rotor speed just can't be compensated - and when flying straight, attempting to use the tail-rotor to turn it is an exercise in futility.

...or may i just don't have the flap part along the bottom of the tail bent over enough or something?

Does it maintain a constant heading when you maintain a constant throttle setting? I have noticed with all 3 of mine that adjusting the throttle causes a the heli's to turn. If you decrease throttle then it turns left, increasing throttle turns it right. I believe it may have to do with the way the electronics are designed. The tail prop decreases and increases speed with the main prop. I also think that the main prop has more inertia than the smaller tail prop. This allows the smaller tail prop to change speed much faster than the main prop. I have found that feeding a bit of left or right into the controller as I change altitude will help quite a bit. Every throttle change also requires the heli to be re-trimmed at the controller. Battery voltage may also be a factor.

The twist in the tail-boom is for forward flight. If you twist is so that the prop points down then it forces the tail-boom upwards, pushing the nose down.

yeah - I can trim it so it stays straight and level, but then "hitting the gas" makes it turn. Like I said, the tail rotor just doesn't have enough 'bite' to keep up w/ the torque of the main rotor(s).

Check the rotor to make sure that there isn't any hair around the motor spindle. I have found that it collects junk very quickly.
