TG Chess Club anyone?

I can't believe TG doesn't ALREADY have a chess club! Being that we're a tactical community it would seem only proper.

I was thinking perhaps we could use Yahoo Chess or some other similar online chess site. Perhaps even the latest edition of Chessmaster (I don't have it, but I do believe it offers online multiplayer play).

Any thoughts? Suggestions?

I just want to warn you all not to play with Dark Viper. He won the Oaklahoma State Title a few years ago, and was sponsored by Walmart and White Castle to go to nationals. He doesn't like to brag about it.

Yea, I played it a lot in high school with my friends. Do you know a place to play it online?

Re: TG Chess Club anyone?

I played a lot in high school too. I haven't played in years. My friend and I used to play on the internet chess club--it's called wild 24 there, but they also have the varient crazyhouse. I haven't used their software in ages, so I'm unsure if they still have that feature--I checked, they still do. The only problem is that while you can play as a guest, getting games going with a membership is much much easier.

Let me know if you want to try and get a game of bughouse going DV: http://www.chessclub.com/

Really? He should challenge Meat Drapes to a game on www.RedHotPawn.com

Meat has beat me like 79 out of 80 games... I just want to see someone beat him!

Re: TG Chess Club anyone?

Dark Viper chastised me on TS last night for giving out his secret passion and for misspelling his home state (He's also Oaklahoma's Spelling B champion for '85, '86, & '87). Another reason why not to post when you've had a few beers in you. I wouldn't be surprised if he accepts a chess challenge should anyone desire.

Re: TG Chess Club anyone?

I'll play DV, only if I get to be on your team. I have played some pretty good players before though. The guy who wrote me a letter of recommendation for grad school was ranked third in England for a while. Then again, he kicked my ass a lot.

Re: TG Chess Club anyone?

Nothing Roach says is true. How could I have won a spelling B at 1 month old? I've never won any tournaments before, I just played chess as a hobby.

Re: TG Chess Club anyone?

What I hear is that the 33rd play chess in full LARP style on a big checkered duvet. They always fight over who gets to be the Queen.
