Re: 300
I watched it and wasn't impressed at all. Just a bunch of glorified special effects and sensationalism IMO. Seemed like the plot and setting were dumbed down w.r.t. historical accuracy.

Re: 300
Read the graphic novel. I went through it at Borders last weekend and realized the movie was EXACTLY like the book, frame for frame. The movie was mimicking Frank Millers graphical style to a T. The movie's not supposed to be an accurate representation of real history. It is, however, supposed to be an accurate representation of Frank Miller's book. And it is indeed. You know how people always say that books are better than their movie counter-parts. Well in this case, they're both equally as good because they're the same thing. I'm ordering this sucker off of Amazon. It was beautiful.

Oh, it's based off of a book? Didn't know that.

Re: 300
Haha! Your wife wanted YOU to go see it? Now that my friend, is just sad. I work security at a theater here in Milwaukee and work with a lot of movie buffs at my other job and that would be the first time I heard that about 300. Sure women can like it... but she had to encourage you to go?

Re: 300
No, she didn't have to encourage me. But all the ladies on her scrapbooking forums have been chattering about the movie and all the half naked men in it. I just assumed that I wouldn't get to see this film in the theater and when she said that she wanted to go see it, it surprised me.
