300
Best. Movie. Ever.
Its a movie based on Frank Millers graphic novel interpretation of the battle of Thermopylae.

Re: 300
One of these days people are going to realize that virtually all ancient Greek warfare is utterly fascinating. I'm waiting for the first movie version of the Peloponnesian War, particularly anything featuring the Spartan general Brasidas. Thucydides is one of the most interesting reads ever.
Secondly, Frank Miller has it going on, and there should be more movies capitalizing on the seedy, sadistic underbelly of superherodom. I'd favor a Tarantino version of Superman.
Lastly, that preview looks awesome in its own right. I'm looking forward to seeing this. But one day, in my humble opinion, people will discover that understatement coupled with exact discipline and horrific bloodshed is more compelling than getting all "aggro." I mean, according to Herodotus these same Spartans who fought at Thermopylae combed their hair while "preparing to kill and be killed." That really confused the Persians. When the Spartans then won the battle against a numerically superior enemy, they set up a monument on the battlefield honoring the fallen soldiers. It read "“Go, stranger, and tell the Spartans / That we lie here in obedience to their laws.” Now that is a culture that does not wear its virtues on its sleeve.
Nonetheless, in spite of my gripe, I have to admit that seeing a column of Spartan warriors squaring off for battle makes me shiver.

Re: 300
Ive loved Sin city since i first read one of the comics years ago. So , the movie was kind of touchy for me ....until i saw it. It amazed me that an intellectual property DIDNT have to be completely butchered just to be made into a movie. (Batman, Starship troopers, anything Uwe Boll touches)
So I await this movie eagerly not only as a fan of Millers writing, but as a fan of historical tactical combat as well.
Edit: After watching the trailer again it reminded me of the amazing cinematography in Sin City and looks as though this movie will feature some amazing shots as well.
