I just saw the thread in the pictures & screenshots section about classic video game consoles. Quite an impressive list and a good trip down memory lane. I'm curious if anyone has kept their consoles/handhelds through the ages as I have. I'll start with myself, although I don't have my Atari 2600 anymore, that was my first system. I'll list what I do still have.

Nintendo NES (the original and the redesigned)
Sega Master System
Sega Genesis (2nd Version)
Super Nintendo (the original and the redesigned)
Sony PS One (the smaller newer one)
Sega Saturn
Nintendo 64
NEC NeoGeo Pocket Color (truly a fabulous handheld)
Sega Dreamcast (North American AND Japanese models)
Sony PS2
Nintendo Gamecube
Nintendo Gameboy Advance SP
Nintendo Wii
Nintendo DS

And yes, all are in perfect working order. I like to fire up the old NES when I desire some nostalgia and it works every time. It is the original that my brother and I worked so hard to buy back in 1986. Our parents couldn't afford to buy us one, so my brother and I sold candy at school and raked lots of leaves until we could afford it. Even as kids, it only took a year to save up the cash with NO help from the parents. That's why I still have these things, they represent a lot of hard work when I was a kid (sure made me take care of them more too). I'd love to hear about what everyone else still has.

Wow, that's quite a few systems.

The first computer I ever owned was a TI99/4A, and I still have it. Next was an Apple II clone called a Unitron2200, and I have that. I didn't own a real console until the N64 and the XBOX, and I also have both of those still.

One day, I'll force myself to throw out those old systems...

Edit: oops... forgot the PS2 I have for playing Guitar Hero. I made it out of 2 broken PS2's.

Wow icky, now that's old school. It's kinda cool to keep those old computers to play the old stuff. My buddy has an Amiga which he will forever keep because the games rock for it and the systems pretty much monetarily worthless if he was going to sell it. That's how I feel about my old systems and games. I know I couldn't get any money for them or the games so I might as well keep them. Besides, Wii's virtual console doesn't have nothin' on my game stash.

The reason I don't have X-Box is because I am pretty much indefinately borrowing my brother's. I just couldn't claim it as my own since he technically owns it. But there is one in my possession. I really want an X-Box 360 someday too, but for me it's not worth it yet since I don't have an HDTV to take advantage of its graphics.

Yes, I actually own a fully functional R.E.A.L console, and I have about thirteen or fourteen games for it. Even though the console itself didn't survive to continue its line, there are a lot of really decent games to play on it. I try to keep them in good condition but I fear that soon they won't really work anymore. =/ They're getting quite old...

I love that old system though.

In between my apple and my PC, I did lots and lots of NES and Genesis gaming, but I never owned one. When I was in university, I was renting a different NES game pretty much every week. I really should have spent more time in school.
