Hardcore Half-Lifer's Check This Out!
Best... MOD.... ever!? Quite possibly. For those of you hardcore, dedicated fans who love this game (especially the original game) you will probably wet yourself with excitement when you see this teaser. The MOD in question is Black Mesa: Source. It's basically HL1 all revamped with the source engine... but sticking very true to it's original layout and play.
Most fans that I have talked too and read online about have always wanted to see HL1 in today's source engine. I could not agree more! I really have thought for some time that the original game would be better than HL2 with the new engine... some time soon hopefully we will find out. I have been watching this MOD for probably a year now and though they are moving slowly, they have made much progress and now have a teaser video out!

Re: Black Mesa Source Trailer
That's a bit harsh. The only reason Valve even released it was to demonstrate the ease of porting a HL1 mod over to the HL2 engine. However, as its pretty pointless without redoing all models/maps as HL1:Source has shown, the only mod I know of that has taken advantage of this is The Battle Grounds.
Oh and there will be co-op according to their website:
Co-operative
* Black Mesa co-op will allow players to not only recruit the assistance of security guards and scientists, but also that of your friends! Share the single-player experience by battling through Black Mesa together. Players will be able to wage battles, travel corridors and emerge victorious over the enemies and escape the confines of the Black Mesa Research Facility.

Ooo, there is another thread here discussing this
But yeah, this looks awesome. We'll have to get a coop mode going.

It certainly looks like what Half-Life: Source should have been.
