Re: Rome the HBO Series.
It was canceled for the same reason that Eureka was canceled. They were really great shows, but they cost much more than they were making.
Kind of like Firefly, if I assume correctly. Pity, huh.

Re: Rome the HBO Series.
I quite enjoyed Rome. The only thing which I didn't like about the show was the way they skipped past huge battles and long periods of time without giving you a good sense of what happened. It felt like you were teleporting through time and space. The stuff that happened in between those gaps was fantastic though!

Re: Rome the HBO Series.
Well they did the time and battle skipping in the first season as well. It isn't the fact that they skipped things that bothered me, it was the way they presented those skips. It was just the style they chose.

Re: Rome the HBO Series.
They showed one battle this season although i can't recall which. towards the end of this season the skips were much more apparent and more frequent several years infact skipped and you wouldn't even know until octavian goes "it's been several years".
Seasons 2 was two episodes shroter then season 1

Re: Rome the HBO Series.
They showed the Battle of Philippi where Octavian and Antony defeated the army of Brutus and Cassius.
