Maybe I just get nervous. :P

Re: desktop tower defense

Just poking my head in... Honestly, the BEST defense on this one is a proactive one. Get a maze setup as well as 1 long path that's not part of your maze. Then... since the bots are programmed to take the shortest path possible to their goal, let them get 75/80% down the long path... then drop a tower at the end of the path so they double back and have to go through your maze. When they are less than 50% through your maze... delete the tower at the end of the long path. They'll double back AGAIN and head back to the long path. Rinse, wash, repeat. For safety reasons, be sure you're able to block any of them that decide to keep walking down the maze path.

Your strongest towers should be along the long path, the start of the maze, and if you're worried about those that slip through, the end of your maze (although if you're good at micro managing, you don't need to worry about this much).

Ya, that's juggling, but I don't like it. I'm in the no-juggling camp.

I know this game is old but I still play it sometimes. Has anyone been able to beat the fun challange where you start with 10k? I get overwhelmed at about 79 everytime.

I've been playing this for a long time now, I'll start posting some scores in TG now too.

Just posted in "TG" guess that wasn't the right one.... it was a score of 6706 too ; ;

Re: desktop tower defense

I have not. Similar to you, the flyers just beat me senseless.

It is so frustrating. If I build up my defenses to stop the flyers then the ground guys get by. I have not been able to find a balance that works.

Made it to 82 yesterday, but it was a guy from 79 that nailed the coffin shut.

Re: desktop tower defense

Some good tips for killing flyers and in general.

You want to group your best towers together and set a snap tower in the middle, its also great fun just to watch a fully upgraded snap tower destroy the first 20 rounds if you let them all in at once in 10k mode.

For air, try setting a frost tower near your air section and a snap tower as well. If you set it off when most of the air are overlapping you will get double duty out of your air D since they have minor splash capabilities.

Good tips. I have not tried a snap tower but I am going to as soon as I play again. Thanks.
