Same here... UserCP bookmark serves as my entry point into TG - lists any posts in subscribed threads, shows rep, and has direct links to everything usefull including subscribed forums, PMs, etc, etc..

I check mine once every time I get on the forums. Just a quick peek then I check threads. Just part of my routine, just like glancing at the "Unread PMs" line to see if I have any new messages.

yeah same here. A lot of people don't leave responses in a thread and they give rep with comments instead. It's useful feedback.

Re: Reputation System

Red? I thought it was colourless when it was neg. repped.
If that is not the case then what is the one without colour?

Re: Reputation System

IIRC it's grey when the user doesn't have enough posts to modify someones reputation, so it doesn't count towards your "score". It's red () when it's negative.

Re: Reputation System

I also just figured out how to look at the rep page. Good stuff, and I will use it in the future.

Also after reading the replies it looks like a good way to communicate without getting the thread off topic. I must now figure out how to use this system!

Yup, my UserCP is my entry point to the TG forums for the same reasons mentioned by others. It's a convenient place to see any new PMs and lists all of my subscribed threads and forums. I guess you could say I check my rep regularly only because it is there when I scroll down to the bottom of the page and I can't help but notice it...

Same here, right after the home page. Then it sits in Forum Spy.

Hey wow! I got a little red ball from you too!

Got some green ones as well.

Got one blueish-grey one, but dunno what that's all about. Is it the super-duper red ball that is so bright a hue it burned out the receptors in my eyes?

Is there a practical application for Reputation, or is it purely a "who can score the highest by posting useful/entertaining stuff" sort of thing?

It's just to enable people to give private feedback on posts. Only you can see how many rep points you have.
