Re: Moving to San Diego...
Man... Tau, before you get your heart set on a specific part of town, you might want to check out the rates/prices. You might have to settle for a studio apartment in National City (Nasty City).
And Tybalt is right, if you can handle a commute (an hour and a half during rush hour, a half hour with no traffic), North County is the place to live. I grew up in Escondido (part of North County, which isn't actually a county, but simply a part of San Diego County) and I still have family out there. Slowly but surely, they're all moving out here to Texas, though. Climate is about the only thing that San Diego has that's better than any city in Texas... My sister and brother-in-law are moving out here this year and my parents said they'll probably be following the year after. 'Course, you gotta go where the jobs are...

Re: Moving to San Diego...
CD is also right. Most of SD is good to live in and North County is also very nice. However, most of SD is pretty price to live so I hope your employer gave you an appropriate raise. ON the flip side if you ever want to go play some paintball give me a holer.

Re: Moving to San Diego...
Thanks all.
The company can provide me w/ temporary housing until I make my decision. So far I've decided that I want a place within walking distance of my office. I should be able to afford up to $1300-1400/mo for housing. Suburbs don't really appeal to me.

Re: Moving to San Diego...
I think he'll be able to find something in that price range pretty easily... Apartments in that area have been overbuilt and rents are reasonable.
Edit: Link to Craigslist search.
