The halo series has something most other FPS, or any game really, lack.

That certain immersion factor that has little to do with the game part of the game. It includes the consistent and high quality artwork, the characters and music plays a huge role. Humor and story also is a part of that "feel".

Music might have been the best part of the game and I wish other games could incorporate it as well as Halo did. It was one of the few games I actually turn the music volume up. Usually I shut it off because it distracts. In Halo it defiantly added to the experience. It was a part of the experiance.

Don't misunderstand. There are other games that just have a certain feeling which sticks with you. Blizzard games in general, the Half Life series, Homeworld. Homeworld is another game I actually enjoyed the music in.

So maybe it was a "FPS for dummies" but at least the audience to experience a FPS was enlarged.

boy, crysis looks amazing. I think I will have to upgrade this fall so I can play with all that eye candy.

Crysis will, by far, be the better game; however, Halo will outsell it.

Crysis will be a turning point for PC's this fall - many, many people will upgrade their rig just to play this game. I don't see it being a huge push for Vista since it was developed for DX9, with later DX10 tacked in for performance reasons; however, you will need a DX10 class video card/system to really get the most out of it.

I think the real question being asked here is which game has more hype, halo 3 hands down. But if you want to look at which game will actually present a next-gen experience, then crysis blows halo 3 out of the water.

In my opinion, halo is the most over-rated FPS of all time. But when people only have limited resources of games, it can seem to be a really cool game. I had already played quake/quake2/action quake/half-life/counter-strike by the time Halo came out, and to a person who has already played these great games, halo was very mediocre game play to myself and other pc gamers alike. Not to mention, lets be realistic a keyboard and mouse is the bread and butter of any FPS. You simply can not have the same accuracy with a console controller.

Calvin, I respect your opinion, but to say that Xbox live blows away anything found on pc, is a bit too much. I enjoy finding my own servers to join and play on, because I can tell if I'm joining a server with 13year old kids or adults. Xbox live's match making is alright, but I myself don’t like being paired with a player of my same level, I much rather have a challenge and take on people who think they are better.

Also keep in mind we have dedicated servers.

Anyway I expect Halo 3 to sell more and I expect Halo 3 to be better then Halo 2. (Thank God.)

However I expect Crysis to blow it away in SP and MP. Not sure what will be the best MP game of the year. It is either Crysis, UT3, Quake Wars, or Savage 2.
