Microsoft Fs2004 XD
but most of what you saw where custom addons that add to the realism of the sim
the Boeing 747-400 is by PMDG and it's as close as you can get without a 13 million dollar simulator or the real thing, most every system is modeled and updates for the Airac cycles (navigation data) can be found at Navigraph.com

the weather is by Hifisim, a product called Active sky that keeps you insync with real world weather without pauses or issues, it also gives nice cloud/sky graphics
http://www.hifisim.com/as65.html
Los Angeles international Scenery is by Cloud 9
http://www.fscloud9.com/php/products.php?lang=EN&id=138
and the australia freeware (covers the full continent) is by Vista Australis

Good stuff and thanks for the links. Maybe we can link up sometime and fly together. I typically do fighters but I'll be glad to fly escort for you if you want to grab Air Force One or something.

The flight sim community here has taken a bit of a nose dive (pun intended) but I'm sure you could grab a few guys for some multiplayer flight sim goodness.

With this sort of title, I was expecting the source code to a new kernel module that could manipulate the various proprietary wireless cards.

Nice vid. I didn't realize that FS would show the TR's deploying. That's too cool. You flew that plane like a champ. Ever thought of being a pilot in RL if you aren't already?

Re: my uber geeky side
Cool! I start mine this summer as well! I've been aircrew (but not a pilot) for 6 years. It's very motivating. Being in the air is so great and never really gets old. I'm SO bored with civilian life. Once I get my license, it's back in the military with me! Good luck to you, and get that license!
