Rofl.

Well I ask anyways because of this particular line:

Re: Be wary when shopping at Circuit City!
They bought out the Geek Squad, all 6 locations and grew them to over 600 locations in part by converting the old Tech Bench into Geek Squad locations. There are still original GS employees working in Best Buy's system.

And by that ratio, it's 1% true GS, and 99% warez jockeys using unlicensed tools to fix "broken" computers.

Re: Be wary when shopping at Circuit City!
This comment isn't accurate. They used the same diagnostic tools and many of the techs were forced to get Microsoft Certifications. The people running Geek Squad ending up leading the culture change at the tech bench including trainings, E-Learnings and outside certifications. There are definitely better techs then others, but that's true anywhere.

Re: Be wary when shopping at Circuit City!
I hate people. I especially hate protection plan pushing nazi's who drive me to the brink of strangling them.
Which leads me to this gem of a story. I sometimes stop by a particular BB to buy things that you won't really get *much* cheaper online. Games, etc. This particular little troglodyte ALWAYS hammers and hammers and hammers away at pushing the protection plan. He reamed me on my xbox 360, and that was the last straw for me. I had decided it was time to play a little joke on him. A few weeks later a buddy and I went to a best buy and he picked up an xbox 360 and about 6 games, extra controller, etc. Big money, right up to the register. This little maggot started pounding my buddy for the extended warranty to which my buddy declined. The guy asked again, and my buddy said no. The troll asked a 3rd time to which my buddy asked for a manager. The guy was a bit puzzled by this and called the manager up. My buddy said "How can you have pushy bastards like this working for you? I had to tell him 3 times I don't want your protection plan, yet he keeps bugging me about it. Forget it, you can take this xbox and put it back, I'll go buy it at Circuit city."
The look on their faces was priceless

JMJ = Evil
Well, I was kind of hoping someone might answer 'no' to BBY buying out the former Geek Squad. Oh well, I just hope I never have to rely on a GS guy to poke around in my system.Acreo Aeneas

I only occasionally-if I absolutely have to and death by fire ants isn't an option- go to CC or BBy if I want to pick up a game, movie, or some other small thing. Everything else is zipzoomfly or newegg.
