This kind of widespread ignorance is why TV shows can get away with such awful plot devices. I watch a lot of scifi and comic shows (eg. Heroes) and have to turn my brain off for most of it.

I was watching an episode of the Dead Zone involving a space shuttle, and the crew decided to land at Edwards AFB in California. They looked down as they were about to start their descent and saw the lights of California. Doh! You start your descent thousands of miles away!

I'm fine with a little suspension of disbelief, but that's extreme, and outside the bounds of the premise of the show (a "touch psychic" stopping disasters).

Now, if he could actually do something with this machine for curing cancer, that would be something to really get all worked up about. As for him burning salt water with it, it is impressive but then it is like sparkks said I believe....how much energy is it taking to operate the sound wave machine to burn the water?? If it is enough to produce the energy for the machine and a little extra, then he has got something, if not, then further developement is needed. Might find out years down the road he is the father of pioneering radio waves to move the world, cure you, or possibly kill us all. Only time will tell.
Burning salt water at 1500 degrees has a lot of potential. If nothing else, that could be our next form of producing steam for steam generators for electricity? A lot actually goes through my head that this could be applied to. BUT then I just thought, if it is applied to something like steam generators for electricity then that means a good chance all the coal miners would lose their jobs cause all power plants that burn coal would eventually stop burning coal, lol.

Now consider that your average politician is just as dumb as the people who buy into these scams, and consider what kinds of legislation they're approving as a result. (Not that they read the bills in the first place.)

One thing is, I am sure this has been found to be legit. Enough engineers and scientists have probably look at it to see that. Be funny and embarrassing on NBC for airing a scam.

Ok so now we need electric cars to power the combustion/ steam engine? I dont get it why would APV polymer's engineers think that was a viable replacement for fossile fuels? I think as far as a replacement to chemotherapy it might be a decent substitute, however it is above all just a very powerful microwave. I think power tools however are a step in the wrong direction for curing cancer, genetic engineering has a much more promissing future. Also, I why cant this guy just plant a garden or start a stamp collection in his retirement? Curing cancer is something one should begin to tackle in the beginning of their life not the end.
