ARrrrrg... people always make the latest games sound like torture... it ran very smooth on this config:
2.8ghz P4
x850 xt pe (basically the same as x800)
1024 mb XMS memory (pc3200)
onboard sound.
80gb 7200 rpm SG barracuda (single drive)
=
1024x1028 res
8x AA
Medium texture (it doesn't allow you to turn it up)
Medium effects (again locked)
there were other settings but i can't recall them.

Hope this helps all the so-called mid-range people.

I don't know what happened to some of you guys with 6600gts, but I've got a 3500/66600gt/1g ram, and I'm running at 1024x768 with texture medium/shadows low/AF 4x/post effects low and FRAPS says I'm getting 25 average, which is playable for me.

Hmm...I've downloaded the demo from TG and 2 other sites, but whenever WinZip finishes extracting data2.cab I get a CRC error. Did anyone else have this problem?

I downloaded off the downloadeds section worked for me, but I always use winrar to extract no problems.

i'm just running a 6600 vanilla, not gt.

Ok, I tried again, 800x600 was performing really poorly for me, but stepping up the resolution to 1024x768 helped somewhat. Still when more than 2 hostiles are on the screen my fps can dip down as low as 15fps according to Teamspeak overlay. Walking around with no enemies I can get around with an acceptable 40-60 fps. Movement still feels slugish, but maybe that's the way it's suppossed to be.

I'm dropping in a ATI X850XT tonight.

I'm running a P4 3.0, 1Gig, audigy and last night was a ATI9800 Pro.

Ran everything at high and it looked really good but I haven't gamed in a LONG time and I sucked! and died. I felt like I was half blind with no periferal vision. Peaking is a good feature but didn't seem to help much and the action can come at you from quite a ways off. Of course I was pretty awkward being so far from gaming the last year. I basically just had everyone follow and didn't hand out any orders.

It felt a little laggy, maybe it was a sluggish mouse, not sure. The 850XT should eliminate any performance issues so we'll see tonight I guess.
