Well, I hoped for the best, but it seems that Ubi doesn't have their act together in Australia. BF2 was released the exact same day here as the USA, but GRAW doesn't come out in stores until the 11th. I should have ordered direct from Ubi weeks ago like Munchkin, but just didn't expect there to be such a delay. Now I'm screwed and get to sit around for a week while I listen to all the fun everyone's having

So, go easy on the game in the first week guys. Leave some stuff to the imagination for the forgotten few

D2D is US-only. I tried ordering direct from Ubi in the UK, but their crappy website times out in SSL mode. I will keep looking at options. I know Amazon doesn't ship games to Australia, but I will look for other vendors who might do so. My other option is maybe to just get a friend to ship one over. From memory, fast FedEx from the US to Australia is insanely expensive though and I would only save 4-5 days.

It's my own silly fault. I shouldn't have assumed they would have their act together to ship on time everywhere.

EDIT: Even Amazon says May 9th. What is going on here? I would think that the logistics of releasing games at the same time everywhere would be vital. EA seemed to be able to do it well enough with a huge distribution game like BF2, why not Ubi with GRAW? Hmmmm.

Well, I picked up the game today. Played through the first mission, which was pretty impressive as far as visuals go.

I had a good chuckle at GameSpy though. Check this out:

I enter my existing GameSpy account and password, both of which I know to be 100% correct with no funny characters, no spaces etc, just "Bommando". I can log in to the GameSpy website with it successfully.

I tab out of each field as people suggest, I even hit Enter for each field as well. No luck. Could not log in. Great.

So, I try "retrieve password" to see if that triggers a response. It says my ID doesn't exist. Right, so I am imagining things when I log in to GameSpy successfully in my browser. Interesting.

Well, I thought, since I don't exist, I'll try to create it again ...

"This GameSpy ID already exists"

Well buddy, you just contradicted yourself there, didn't you?

I am loathe to create a new account. I am rather fond of the name Bommando and wish to continue using it thanks very much. How boring.
