    Re: Patch Is Buggy

Me, Jack, and Delta had some great co-op games goin last night. Very fun. It was the pacthed version and i hosted it through gamespy. We really didnt have any problems cept for some minor lag on jack. But i think cuz he was so far away from me. Other than that it was a damn good experience.

Im definately not a good squad leader, but i did the best i could, giving them orders and what not. You do really need to move slow even if you already know the map. There were some instances there were guys that were in dif places than usual so you gotta be on your toes and wait for the SL to scan the area ahead and give out orders. I love playing the sniper role though, giving cover and taking out key targets. And unless you take extra ammo, you have to be picky with your targets. We beat VIP 2 is down which is a fun mission. I definately would like to play strong point next if anyone wants to.

But yea, no probs with the patch so far on my end. The master server was down for an hour or so last night, thats about as far as i know. Himatchi worked fine though.

Im sure its fustrating but this really is a great game. Im sure theyre aware of the issue and are workin on a new and hopefully better patch.

Don't get me wrong the game as a whole is a buggy piece of sh*t. Like you said the gameplay is awesome when it works but when it takes multiple hours to play about an hours worth of game, that's pretty asinine. I just meant that I didn't see any problems after installing the patch that weren't already there. As of now the actual gameplay balanced against the buggy crap I have to put up with doesn't make this a well spent $50.00 to me. But I'm sure they'll fix it at some point.... maybe.

There's a patch??? Been out of action all week, and this is the first post in the GRAW section. After reading everyone's comments though, I am torn with what action to take. Patch, or don't patch. I have had this game since it was released here, and I have not even had the time to play ANY mutiplayer. I was fixing to begin that this weekend, and I don't want to shoot myself in the foot.

Bonehead, killrogg, snail88 and myself just played the patched version, went flawless and actually... we noticed a difference in the graphics. Looks like they gave us boys with the HDR-less video cards some bloom effect to play with. Looks nice but makes some places a bit darker.

My take on the patch, worth getting. I think the problems were infact on gamespys end and have been resolved.

    Re: Patch Is Buggy

When I connect the gameplay is awesome. So far the only probs I've had connecting have been consistent before and after the patch. Game crash problems (video card related I believe) aside the main issue has been the "I have to click a hundred times to get into the server" thing.

Perhaps the parallels with BF2 are slightly off given that this game is primarily Single Player with Multiplayer quite obviously tacked on in the current version, whereas BF2 is a Multiplayer game first and foremost. That has a lot of implications in terms of game engine design and issues of stability etc. I have no doubt that this game is going to be worth it when stability and connectivity issues are sorted.
