Re: GRAW patch and future
It's a marketing thing. If a consumer has the choice between the PC and 360 versions of a game, the consumer would likely buy the first one that is released. By releasing the 360 version earlier, it encourages the consumer to buy a 360 and the 360 version of the game instead of waiting for the PC version.

Re: GRAW patch and future
I'm glad it's not a port, the 360 version sounds like an arcade shooter compared to the PC.

Re: GRAW patch and future
I've already gotten my money's worth out of this game - and there are supposedly more updates in the pipeline. But we'll have to see about that...software developers of all stripes are famous for promising high and delivering low, aren't they? ;]
Who cares about server binaries anyway? There are several servers running 32 player games flawlessly.Last edited by Nikolas; 06-25-2006 at 11:26 PM.

Re: GRAW patch and future
From what I've heard, there would be another patch released sometime next month, don't know if thats just a rumor or a fact. Everyday I pop into the TS server, but never see anyone there, I did find a couple of other TS servers just for GRAW that have at least 1 or 2 players every night, but if there are enough people or at least 2, I'd prefer to play with TGers here instead.

Re: GRAW patch and future
Altough the SOP's, ROE's and many of the reviewed protocols that we apply are extremely important, while still abiding to squad work and developing a tactical orchestra, the modification of many features from THIS specific game would fall in error.
Let us remember that GRAW's technology is based on the militar advances that are expected to be available to soldiers in TEN YEARS! That's a full decade.
Therefore, to change the "Tech" aspects of the game would be to take GRAW out of context. It would be downgrading the game from its realism, to fit our limited understanding.
Make a search, you will find plenty of that technology in their developing stages.

Re: GRAW patch and future
I think it's all a matter of preference. Some of us enjoy self-limiting use of the overhead tac map and the threat indicators because it makes the game more difficult, and requires you work together a lot more to spot those tangos and get fire on them.
It's an immersion thing for me. I just don't like it when a teammate sees a tango, and all of a sudden I have an indicator on my screen telling me where they are. I think a grid overlay on the coop maps would be much better as far as encouraging more teamwork, and methodical movement."No bastard ever won a war by dying for his country.

Re: GRAW patch and future
From here out I'm going to try to stay off the tac map. It's more fun to recon with your eyes and your teammates' eyes.

Hey, didn't somebody else have that idea too? Like, a while back?
