Thumbs up PC Gamer (Oct 2005) GR reference...

The October issue of PC Gamer is out and in it, a nice article about all the upcoming shooters...

One reference is to the PC version of Ghost Recon: Advance Warfighter...
Here's a couple of small quotes worth noting for us PC gamers...

"Tactical map: The tactical map returns, providing an aerial schematic view of the original (ghost recon). Once again, you'll be able to direct movement of your squads from a satellite's eye perspective."

"Breaking out your squads: One of the essential pleasures of Ghost Recon was the ability to switch from soldier to soldier in dynamic fashion. GR2 relied instead on a single hero character. For the PC version Advance Warfighter, Ubisoft is providing the ability to break down your unit into subordinate squads that you can direct individually, and jump between."

IMO good news for us PC gamer only types.

Well good, that put my mind to rest somewhat. I was afraid that two of the things that made GR distinctive got gutted from the game in the consolization of the title, but looks like they kept it as an option for the PC. Good enough for me.

Returns? When did it ever leave us? Oh right, we PC gamers never got to miss it in GR2.

I'm still not excited about GR3. How much energy is Ubisoft putting into advertisment for GR3? It doesn't seem like they're hyping it much.

Dunno, as I've seen presale copies already up in EBGames locally. I'm holding out for a bit though, until I've seen a more definite list of features.

Translation:I wanna know about map/mission/mod editting
