Re: Sunday night's games
OK... last night was great, as so was the other two Sundays... so the follow comments are my suggestions and opinions only.. just expressing them... will go with whatever the group/club decides as a whole, pertaining to the "Game Club"...
When we first played OFP, after-wards I said to myself, "Heck with the game club rotation, lets play OFP every week"... it was that much fun. When we first played AA, after-wards I said to myself, "Heck with the game club rotation, lets play AA every week"... it was that much fun. When we first played GR, after-wards I said to myself, "Heck with the game club rotation, lets play GR every week"... it was that much fun.... you get my point... The purpose of the inner TG "Game Club" was to cycle four old time, but favorite games and re-visit them once a month... So far it's been a great success with a 3 for 3 record... but now were liking a game too much, members of TG that played OFP said the same thing you GR fans are saying here, Members of TG that played AA are saying the same thing as the OFP and GR fans... once again, you get the picture. lol... My belief is that we keep it once a week, maybe twice a week per game as part of the "Game Club", while all the other time can be dedicated to your EVE games, your WOW games, and my simulations etc ect... (not to mention all the great games coming out within the next three months.) If we start dedicating more time and energy to a certain "old time" game, we will be pushing out members that just want to re-visit an occasional great game... then you'll start seeing, continued SOP's, and then dedicated inner units like the TG GR group, the 42nd, the 7th and what-ever start taking over certain aspects of the game club... then there will be required training, required practices, and required matches... which is all great, outside of the "Game Club"... so pretty much what I'm saying here is that IMO we should keep the "Game Club" a weekly (or 2 a week) thing.. one game per week, with four games total... that way... every Sunday night (or whatever is agreed on) we TG members who have families, friends, jobs, commitments, and other hobbies...who game an average about 8 to 10 hrs a week if lucky, can still have a weekly game of fun, but with the tactics and team work we crave in multiplayer. KISS... keep it simple stupid.. is my motto and opinion on the "Game Club". Thank you for the games, the club, and TG... that is all. ![]() |

Unfortunately, tonight and tomorrow night probably aren't good for me. I may not be home until after 9pm EST both nights. I'll check in Tuesday and see if anyone is on. |

Thanks for the kind words on leadership guys - it was really good fun. I'd just come off the back of 5 hours of Squad Leading so I guess I was in the groove. But don't worry you'll get to learn all of my quirks in time (my housemates still ban me from taking grenades). I'm definitely up for more games of this if people are around. I promise to leave my spaceship at home ![]()

Re: Sunday night's games
I had an Awesome!!! time last night. Being as GR is what brought me to TG to begin with I was not suprised. Only suprised by having ot lead us to our deaths my first time out. As if no body could tell I was totally winging it. I had jumped on solo earlier that day to get my feet wet and knew I could clear the first 2 Towers and the area in front of the compound including the 2 corner gunners on that end of the compound with a silenced SR-25. But doing that myself and directing others to do it are very different especially since I guess we wern't all on coms on that run so not everyone was hearing what I was saying.
I Have OFP (Not installed) and have never played it here. I had a really hard time getting used to the controls for it in SP mode. Don't think my machine will play the latest AA. And has anyone considered adding Joint Ops into the mix.

If we can, I really like the idea of having the Reprise Night. It would give folks still "glowing" from the week's main Game Club Night a chance to play that game again. I'd certainly jump at that chance. ![]() |

I started the night TKing, dying, and generally showing my noobyness: and people started to vote me for stripes. Bizarre! I had to put my foot down: I told people to vote for someone else, and there were multiple calls for Q! They like you, they really really like you. You did 100x better than I would have. I had trouble with just leading my squad. |

Re: Sunday night's games
Regarding the frequency: For me the game needs at least 5 or 6 players (and at least two players experienced in the "TG way") for it to be really great like it was the other night. I agree we shouldn't immediately assume we'll be able to draw that kind of crowd every night, but I would love to see a "follow-up night" very soon.

Re: Sunday night's games
I really have to agree. Case in point: Tonight I was afk idling in the GR teamspeak channel with Apo while doing my homework. I checked every once in a while hoping to see at least a few more on, but every time it was just H-Hour who had come and then gone. ;P
I'm sure I would have still had a great time even if I had just found a game with one other TGer, but it really just goes to prove yet again that you can't expect the best turnout every single night. - Better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all. (I'll take one night of amazing gaming, over scattered nights of scrounging any-day.)

but your correct, should of went to GR channel, but then if no takers...would of been sitting alone, and missing potential action elsewhere... thats why the general channel or a "want to play something" room is essential, then you wait there, pop in and say... "anyone want to play... so and so... if takers move to channel if not continue waiting. |
