Ghost Recon Night 06/01/2006 (Thursday)
Our Ghost Recon nights continue this Thursday, starting around 8:30pm EDT. Below is the pertinent Tactical Gamer information for Teamspeak, Ghost Recon mods, and the Ghost Recon server.
We gather in the Ghost Recon - Public channel on Teamspeak so that we can have voice comms. The server requires the following, so be sure you have everything you need. Required to Play Ghost Recon (the game itself; see eBay link below) Desert Siege (an Official Expansion; see eBay link below) Island Thunder (an Official Expansion; see eBay link below) A quick eBay search shows all three of the above shipped to your door, new, for less than twenty dollars. The mods, below, are also required and freely downloadable. Tactical Gamer 3.0 (download links) Frostbite 1.2 (download links) Frostbite 1.3 (download links) Coop Pack 1 (download links) Ghost Recon Required Reading (no less required than the mods -- read it before connecting) Server information can be found in this list. We play on the server called Ghost Recon - Co-OP TG 3.0. Please join us for some excellent Tactical Gamer teamplay and action. If, for whatever reason, you can't join us on the server, or if you've got the game but aren't ready to play yet, idle in the TeamSpeak channel while we play. Listening to games is a good way to get used to the comm style outlined in the SOPs. |

Re: Ghost Recon Night 06/01/2006 (Thursday)
I played one mission (on the Russian ship) and had a GREAT time, thanks for showing me around guys. Especially H for your patience.
I'm sure blowing myself up with a nade at the end of the mission was a bit anti-climactic, but I probably wouldn't have lasted long against whoever was in that room anyway. I'm not used to the GR frags. Hope to make it out again in the coming weeks. |

Great games tonight. I like how H gave Alpha, Bravo, and Charlie an objective and then the freedom to complete it. It makes the games go quicker and it is more interesting because you are outnumbered a lot of times.

Yeah glad you came by Evo. You did a really good job. Knowing you were new I was always checking you, but you were always watching where you were supposed to. I felt I could count on you. Good stuff.

Re: Ghost Recon Night 06/01/2006 (Thursday)
Great games, and great turnout. Having ten players for a while was a pleasant surprise. Thanks to those who played; it was nice to see more new faces!
I especially liked it when H split us into separate teams and had us work on different objectives. I recommended to him later last night that we split into separate team channels in Teamspeak when we do this in the future, and he brought up the point of the teams needing to be able to communicate with each other when shared threats are nearby. Perhaps this could be remedied by having everyone bind a new Teamspeak key for speaking to all team subchannels, so that "emergency" messages could be sent across the entire comm net when necessary. This wouldn't be needed for all maps, but for those maps that involve splitting the squad into separate teams, maybe it's something to consider(?). The last map we played wasn't one I've seen before. Very cool map. |
