Ghost Recon Night 09/07/2006 (Thursday)*
Our Ghost Recon nights continue this Thursday, starting around 8:30pm EDT. Below is the pertinent Tactical Gamer information for Teamspeak, Ghost Recon mods, and the Ghost Recon server.
We gather in the Ghost Recon - Public channel on Teamspeak so that we can have voice comms. The server requires the following, so be sure you have everything you need.
Required to Play- Ghost Recon (the game itself; see eBay link below)
- Desert Siege (an Official Expansion; see eBay link below)
- Island Thunder (an Official Expansion; see eBay link below)
A quick eBay search shows all three of the above shipped to your door, new, for less than twenty dollars.
- Various Mods (all are required and are freely downloadable)
- Ghost Recon Required Reading (no less required than the mods -- read it before connecting)
Server information can be found in this list. We play on the server called Ghost Recon - Co-OP TG 3.0**.
Please join us for some excellent Tactical Gamer teamplay and action. If, for whatever reason, you can't join us on the server, or if you've got the game but aren't ready to play yet, idle in the TeamSpeak channel while we play. Listening to games is a good way to get used to the comm style outlined in the SOPs.
* This will likely be H-Hour's final night with us for a while, as he is going off to invade England. Let's have a great turnout so we can wish him well!
** If there are technical issues with the Tactical Gamer Ghost Recon server, it's likely that we'll play on the +SD Ghost Recon server ( IP: 70.86.46.75). Check this thread on game night for confirmation.

I'd like to let H-Hour save my life a few more times before he takes off. I'll come straight home after Ulti next week. If all goes as planned, I can be in the games by 2115e.
Great job posting these threads every week, Strag. Consider creating a recurring event item in the community calendar.

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Several game nights, including Ghost Recon's, are listed as recurring events in the calendar. However, it seems that while most folks don't notice the calendar, they do notice these weekly reminders. So to get folks informed and on the server(s), I think posting these is a worthwhile task.

Hrm. Perhaps we should continue to create weekly threads for our HLTV Sessions on Saturday nights, despite my having recently added them to the calendar.

I may have a friend joining us tonight, a newbie to GR. Should be fun to watch him die.

Some good games tonight, guys. Thanks once again to +SD not only for joining us, but also for hosting!
H-Hour, good luck overseas. Watch out for that Wulfyn fellow. Keep in touch, and please stop in and join us for some games whenever you have a chance.

Re: Ghost Recon Night 09/07/2006 (Thursday)*
My priorities will be elsewhere, but once I'm set up I may stop in for a game or two now and then. It's always hard to tell until I see what my schedule is like. I'll always be around though and I'll check PMs and stuff.

Well, good luck then, H.
Thanks for bringing me back into the game. I'll see you online again, of course, but thanks also for the good games back when we were 42nd'ers.
