Why be a paying member at Tactical Gamer
I am an avid ghost recon gamer. I play your tactical gamer 3.0 quite often and I think its great.
My question to you is simple, After surfing you web site (which is nice) I cant find the anything that shows the benifit of being a paying member of tactical gamer. What do you get for $8.95 per month? *{E}Xenophon Xen@eliteghost.com |

Re: Why be a paying member at Tactical Gamer
Minus the downloads section there, Eternal.
Becoming a TacticalGamer member helps support our servers. The more members we have, the more servers we put up. We recently went through a pretty large transition, in which many of the private servers and forums became temporarily public. Keyword here being temporarily. Both GR servers will be passworded and locked down to members only. You need to be a supporting member to be on any TG competition teams, or to participate in any house tournaments (like the upcoming Badger Hunt). Team forums are locked down to members only. When it all comes down to it though, becoming a member means that you are helping us to continue this great community and allow it to continue to grow. Not to mention, we're pretty damn fun people to play with! We play the game the way it's meant to be played.

Thank you very much for your reply. And thank you Luna for letting me play with you tonight. I had fun.
I am curious on how many servers you have playing Ghost Recon. I have 2 IP address from TG that I have been watching and they are both almost always empty. Do you have other servers hosting Ghost Recon that are more active and is a host always present? Now the reason for my question. I am a senior in a clan with 21 members. We have froze all recruiting and adding of members because it is very hard for us to handle the hosting. And we do not want to freeze membership. Our Room (Rookie Zone on ubi) hosts 16 people at a time while plaing last man and 5 on moded missions (TG, FNG, Etc) and our members can be found playing about 18 hours out of the day. We have looked into a dedi server on a backbone conection but only about 50% of the clan is interrested in the outlay of cash. And the seniors are not interrested in managing it. Also it is important that there are other players in the room when we play so we can practice shooting and getting shot at by non AI. And also so we can recruit. That is why we presently leave our server up on ubi. So the reason for my questions is i am looking for other ways to increase the clan. The next step is acuiring a room that can host 25 or 35 people. Depending on what TG has going on having members of my clan join may be an option. (E)Xenophon Xen@Eliteghost.net www.eliteghost.net |

Re: Why be a paying member at Tactical Gamer
I can only attest to the fact that through this community, over the ages, I have developed "friendships" with people I've never met and have disagreed with vehemently on many issues. What keeps us together here is a general understanding of tactial gaming using contemporary games catering to this style of play (among others) and the inherant friendships made online while playing and discussing many various issues in the forums. This is a community formed from many different personalities and perspectives with a focus on coooperative gaming. I will not forget many of these characters for as long as I live although some have seemed like enemies at times, nor will you if you become involved. There is much knowledge and experience here, welcome if you dare...MMMWWWWHHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Re: Why be a paying member at Tactical Gamer
yeah.... deranger is spot on. There are a lot of guys (and girls) here who will bend over backwards for one of their online mates. The friendships reach well beyond a computer game. First name basis and intimate knowledge of personal situations (like a breakup, family illness, car wreck, celebration) are very common here. if you have only 2 or 3 people here that know you outside here after a few months, it can only be your fault. Tacticalgamer is more than a community, its a way of life. We fight like brothers one minute then laugh like long lost friends the next. I would say enemies are hard to come by around here. once you go TG, ther's no other place to be.

Re: Why be a paying member at Tactical Gamer
Heya xenophobe, I have been around TG for a couple of years now (not always paying), and I will be around for as Long as I get my 2 hours of quality game time a month. That is roughly what I see 8.95 US. being worth to me. Kinda like the same cost as going to a movie once a month in my book, and personally I don't like the movie experience. At least not since they closed down that theatre me and Peewee used to go to....
![]() But seriously folks, alot of the guys here got a little burned out on GR, so the servers are a little quiet. GR is still a special game in my eyes and I have great hopes for GR2. Minus the very important point that half your squad doesn't want to pay to play, TG would be perfect for you, Private forums for your squad, public forums to recruit though and share just about anything. Servers taken care of by someone else. Multiple games to play. An administration willing to host any game if the community shows enough interest. Some real good people. |
